I'm in need of leaf spring / shackle rubbers for my cfl
Cfl bolt n holes and outside bush diameter are bigger than cfs
Have looked all over n no one makes cfl ones anymore
Cfs yes no probs
Have made enquiries bout getting some made
Company poly tuff
Wondering if any other cfl owners want in
Be cheaper as a bulk buy...
Msg from them below:
I would need to make new patterns & new moulds,
Patterns would be $150.00 each
Moulds would be $120.00 each
Parts cost each $10 - to $20 each
-
Why not get something a bit bigger/smaller and resize in a lathe....
Or if you are a true bodger....use a drill press!
-
From the remains of what's left in there.. Looks like the last person did :)

Hey Marky
Have you tried another style truck replacement part?
Like Ford F100?
Or land cruiser, Nissan patrol etc?
Or Carousel trailers or other trailer builders?
I haven't looked for bushes but i recon there must be an alternative out there.
Cheers Marty

Hey Marty
Thanks how's ya lwb coming along ?
Was hoping someone else knew any other compatible s?
-
Lol. I havnt touched the Lwb since i got it. :)
I walk past it nearly every day though.
I thought id done good just getting the lawns under control. 😁

It makes really angry when Bedford parts become obsolete .
You would think with todays technology. You enter your bushes measurements into some database
and you should get a match or not .
Tried searching the internet but came with zero hits .
I do like your idea of manufacturing your own , shows true grit .

I'm looking at USA now all their measurements are imperial
But #rb81 #2907869 is looking like a close match

Rarer than rocking horse shit
I managed to get hold of a few 2nd hand Cfl shackles w good rubbers
Well.. Better than the flogged ones in my van
-
Yea, had to go to great trouble to custom fit new ones to mine.
-
And what are they out of ? Bas
What did u use ?
-
Will have a look, have a spare pkt here, OD the same but inside bush had to be drilled out by 2mm it has a thick wall so plenty of meat left.. can't remember how thick inner tube was but the thickness is greater than the original one after been milled... and the rubber bush had to be shorted a little, cut a little of the inner side. as it was wider than the shackle
-
Thanks bas .. Much appreciated
-
Sorry still looking for the spare pkt, I seen it yesterday and now have misplaced it, I think it only has a part number on it so should find it today and I will ring the firm I got it from, and find out what make and model it is off.

I replaced the rear spring bushes in my LWB about 20 something years ago and the oem bushes were made from unobtainium back then. I ended up getting a full set of bushes custom made by a suspension specialist from nolathane. Just gave them the dimensions and they manufactured them. Worked a treat.
