Title: Ethyl's variation on disc brakes revisited
Post by: Hooter on July 12, 2016, 09:38:15 PM
Hi Guys, I just posted on Ethyl's original post, and a warning saying it was old....
So I thought i would repost here
Ive read many of the disc brake conversions on here, and ethyl's is the most recent.
I have a 6 stud C250 duellie that I want to upgrade to fronbt discs, but retaining the original 14 inch rims.
Has anyone else done this mod??? it sure looks the part, and does anyone know if the 14 inch rims will fit over the new disc brake conversion??
Im putting a LS1 in and want to be able to stop nicely and be legal.

I guess I've found the answer
Ethyl used 314mm dia. Pajero discs and the back of the Bedford CF250 Duellie 14 inch 6 stud rims measure about 285mm being generous, and this aint counting the caliper...
Ive also attached a photo of the back of a 15 inch Commodore rim measuring approx 340mm, which will just take the VT front brakes.
Buga...
Thanks for the address in Auckland Busy Kiwi, (if you see this) I will check him out

Yeah, you're really limited with brake selection for 14" wheels. You would be better off going to 15" wheels for the front, in my opinion. Better tyre selection too.
