I have a bit of a query, was just checking the Lic papers on the truck and it lists the Body type as being a P/van that can't be right can it?
I would of thought maybe Furniture truck or Removal Truck but not a Panel Van. What do they list a real Van as? ???

mine was reg'd as a panelvan....

yep, mine too, I think that most Bedfords were listed as P/vans, my old mans furn van was a p/van too. Perth WA.I'm pretty sure it refers to the Panel type van as luton body or panels on the side of ur furn van

i always thought it might be something to do with if it has a side door or not.... but thats just a guess

Hey Guys, The p/van description on your rego papers is what you want!! Light truck or anything light that will probably double your rego cost, makes it a commercial vehicle.
Thats how it works here in S.A and we've got the slackest rego rules around. My old motorhome I sold a couple years ago had lapsed for 6 years; into motor reg, paid money and she was back on the road.

Thanks for that guy's,I was a bit concerned at first wandering wether some nice person had swapped vehicle plates at some stage ( made two vehicles into one ) Not that anyone would do that thou :-\

yeh my rego is like 100 bucks cheaper than your average passenger car.. brilliant!!

Hi, I was paying normal rego(panel van) about $400 for years untill I let run out once, then when I re-rego'd some F*** at the QLD transport went outside and looked at the tare wieght plates and dicided to call it a light truck, now it costs me $840.00 a year. Gutted!!!

From my rego label
Motor vehicle: 1979 Bed Van
Fee code: VL light vehicle
Tare: 1400 "G"
Reg fee: $178.00
TAC charge: $379.00
Insurance Duty: $37.90
Total: $594.90
I pay $575.40 for a Ford EL wagon, so only about $20 difference
