Title: brake shoes for 12 bolt diff
Post by: Catcher on October 09, 2015, 08:02:56 PM
Hi all, have a 12 bolt diff in the van. Not sure what from tried to buy brake shoes and new wheel cylinders. I was quoted $700 to reline the brake shoes  and resleeve the cylinders. Does anyone have any suggestions where I could purchase new brake shoes and cylinders from.

Put a picture up of the diff centre, and someone will be able to identify.
On a positive note, if you do get the wheel cylinders reconed(sleeved), then all you will ever need again is a kit. :)

And was that 700 including labour? if so, do it yourself and save mega $$

Thanks for that, The diff center cover only allows to identify that it is from a car not a truck. The stamp to id the car it was from was possibly machined off when the now brackets were welded on.

The $700 did not include labour.  I found a place in Melbourne that does old American car brake shoes and cylinders for under $200. He said he may be able to identify it from pics and number on the cylinder.
Thanks for your response
