Title: WANTED CHEV 292 6CYL ENGINE OR PART TO SUIT eg- HEI IGNITION

am after a chev 292 6cyl  engine or parts to suit like HEI Ignition, intake manifold, extrators. most chev 250 6cyl part will fit the 292 6cyl. these engines came out in the bedford trucks @ chev trucks @ chev pick ups.  the chev 292 @250 engines look very much like the holden 6cyl engine. thanks. john

I have a mate with chev 1936 and 1948 6 cylinder motors.
$1500 for both ono, 1 motor has had $4500 spent on it.
He put 253 and 308 holden motors in the cars.
So never needed them.
Let me know if interested. And ill give you his number..

I`m wondering if the old Toyota FJ Landcruiser motors would fit in? ( if you can find one :-).  ) They were around 4 ltrs I think .  Very much like a Jap Chev . Bloody strong engine .

Hi Bob . the toyota  motor your talking about was based the chev motor. i have been told with little modifaction the chev HEI dizzy can be made to fit the toyota engine. the chev 292 has a real  long stroke .miles of torque some where used  in about 7 ton trucks.
