Great Van Stew....What type of diff and ratio are you running in it?

Has a Borg Warner diff with ratio of 3.08/1 out of a VS commodore..

has that been widened or did you just get offset rims to suit ? (compared to standard Bedford diff width)

nice, that's pretty much the same driveline i'm currently installing into mine and I am hoping its a nice combo for towing my Gemini so i'm liking your positive comments! :)

Sammy
I run the same configuration as Stew except I have a 9" diff with a 2.7 ratio. 15" rims with 295 x 60 profile tires
1750 RMP @100K/ph, reasonable fuel consumption and enough grunt  spare to make Mr plod really angry if necessary,
I haven't towed with her yet but don't foresee any issues apart from stopping.I have a set of Corvette discs on the back, Holden discs on the front so she should come to a halt fairly quickly under load.

Stew,,, is that a IRS or a solid axle set up?

I'd say more than likely solid live axle John.

Bean, yeah that sounds similar, I have been told 304/T700/3.08 with stock commodore wheels runs about 1800rpm @ 100kph. My motor has a bit more compression, ported heads and I plan to use a cam that makes good power low to mid revs, I want to have it nicely on the cam at 1700-1800rpm so has plenty of grunt for towing without needing to drop back gears too much.

and if all else fails, i'll get a stroker kit that can assist with these issues hehe :)

Thanks for the comments guys, it's great to talk to other Beddy people.

Yeah solid axle...

And here's a bit more info on what I've had done to EVIL and plan to do just for the fun of it.....

Was painted in House of Colors Black
Had the side windows cut out and filled
Has an aluminum engine cover shaped and fitted to the firewall (no gaps at all) the firewall had to be cut and reshaped which was very expensive.
B&M shifter (shit) which i want to replace with either a quicksilver or a lokar
Had a Brown-Davis 140ltr strapless petrol tank fitted underneath
I fitted a chrome Lokar Performance collapsible steering column and chrome 'Outlaw' steering wheel.
19x8 front and 19x 10" 'Sphere' rims form Showwheels with low profiles
Fiber glass one piece electric back door fitted which works off remote with no lock on the outside so it looks cleaner.
Obviously the standard flair kit though i had it fiber glassed on so there was no join gap. I'm very Anal with presentation lol
New springs and shocks
New set of VDO gauges
At the moment it has racing seats but they will be changed.
For the interior i own a ton of Kenwood stereo and screens that's yet to be fitted and a heap of billet accessories like Jesus bars, pedals, air con gauges, door handles etc... I plan on also fitting a switchable glass floor with the kenwood amps and lighting beneath.
All new glass and rubbers
New alarm, central locking kit with remote start (the keyring also opens the back door from locked position)

Fitted some mesh to the front grill (supercheap auto) very cheap but looks amazing ( i think)

Where I'm at now is fitting sound deadener right throughout the whole van. Roof, firewall, doors floor etc.... I chose a brand called Fat Max and the particular matting is called 'Rattle Trap' which has a great write up and much cheaper than Dynomat.

Been a long time coming but there is a little light at the end of the tunnel!!

Cheers

Feel free to ask any questions i love the feedback and helping anyone where i can.
