Title: Wrecking
Post by: downhill on November 23, 2014, 08:47:03 PM
Hi Beddites,
My old van must go soon the last big parts are a 173 engine, standard trimatic box driveshaft & diff. The font end also stock, steering rack & column. Located Brisbane. Will be available for a few weeks before  it goes to the scrappers. Rental house means I can't keep it  as a store room, paint shop or cubby. Free to good home.

i'm looking for a good floor shifter set up for my trimatic that has a good solid 'lock in place shifter' and an inhibitor switch - is your set up stock?

Hi Shane,
I'm  over in Redcliffe  work  arvos, txt to 0432676450 if you wanna have a look, most welcome.

Hi Mezzmo,

Yes the shifter is stock to the trimatic, thru the floor, round knob with a small rectangle button on top, a screw in hatch. I'll take it out, looks like it works ok. Will have to check for the switch,it'll be on the gearbox, yes?

Thanks responders! :)

Downhill, the switch should be on the bottom of the selector, inside the van. There should be 4 wires plus the light into that area.

Mezzmo, I have a spare switch if needed, but unsure how "good" the rest of the unit is.

Hey Downhill ,   Would there be any chance you could shop out a section for me.
Dont have the exact measurements , but my rear R/H  tail-light section
has been smashed . All fixed now , but its not the same as before .
Any information will be appreciated .

                             Thanks Frank

Just been on Gumtree and saw this slider being wrecked in Parra.

Immediately thought of Ray/Wendy.....
also a couple of vans in Adelaide that may be a good starting point for a "new project" for somebody..... same location...

Joys of being bored on a Friday night...  ::)

Thanks rumax, no switch there.

Mezzmo, just the stick, floor panel,a linkage to the box, the top half of the knob has come adrift the spring is ok under the knob, lubed it with Inox, working ok.

Frank, sure, can cut a section, will be doing a few sections before the scrapper is called.

It seems my ipood pics are too big :-\

Need to learn something here!

mms shrinks them for you, you can also get the same results with some email applications on the phone, usually asks you what size you want to send them as on my iphone!

Thanks Marishka and Sammy, I'm consulting the book for dummies, yes I'm old enough to remember 15 cent stamps, and push button A on the phone box on the corner! ;D.

   " 3 minutes up, are you extending?" ;D ;D

Today's wrecking got a good new starter, off a six cylinder, 4 tinted windows, good seals, standard brake master cylinder and booster, any one driving with one of these? My RATVAN has a PBR and front discs, it has two outlets for the front. Standard hand brake and accelerator pedal.

Rust ate this van long ago, some sections are lost, and the bog! I cut the dash out, project has been hacked at, not pretty! A dash graft? Now I'm pushing my skills!

Thanks for listening.

You gotta push up hill before you get the downhill thrill! Still pushing, lol.
