Is it only Facebook you're having connection problems with? If so, try clearing your history like Vanpyre said.

If you're using Windows, then it's worth having 'Microsoft Security Essentials' installed for virus protection. (download free)

'Malwarebytes' is a free anti-malware and internet security software program, which is compatible with MS Security Essentials.
Run a quick scan with this when you get infected. Works good.

Stay CLEAR of all the really popular big name packages, because the scumbag hackers just love going after your nortons and dr to prove that they can do it. And they tend to stay away from the lesser known packages, because it is'nt as big a challenge.
