Anyone have a standard steering wheel in decent condition? Or a lead on one bigger than the hot rod diameter, 14". Something from a truck maybe?
Thanks, downhill.

i have an old one, in pretty crap condition, rubber feels sticky in the heat, no idea if you can have it recoated or what ever they do
-
saas make a 15 inch one which is a lot better than the 14 that was on mine

Where are you located, i have one here in great condition.

Great Mezzmo
I'm in Redcliffe Brisbane. My column is still the standard one, the wheel should fit OK.
Are you still interested in an instrument dash? You can have one of mine, I'll clean it up a have a good squint for any damage.
I'll give you your price for the wheel, the dash you can have, I can't tell if it works, aside from turning the speedo.
Thanks. Craig.

The mk2 steering wheel is a better wheel than the mk1 but might be hard to find there.
-
thanks for the offer mate but i'm pretty well covered now on the dash front - you're welcome to the wheel, just pm me your address and details and i'll send it up.. If you have a spare heater face for the dash - (the horizontal one not the vertical) i'll take that off your hands!!

That'd be treeemendous Mezzmo! :) I couldn't find your pm in the members list, mine should be there, please mail me for more details. The small sport wheel was a load to manage without power steering and big tyres, a bit more standard is the way I'm trying to go, but a bit of ratrod too.
Thanks.

Hey downhill, you're email address is hidden in your profile. No prob - mine is dsh@net2000.com.au just drop me a line - you may have to wait a week or two - i just realised today that i need to repaint my sports wheel so i had to fit the old one so i could drive it to racepaint tomorrow to get her all finished. They are hoping to have it done by weeks end and i'll do the sports wheel through the week and hopefully swap back over on the weekend.

Sorry Mezzmo,
Haven't quite got the handling of the site yet, saw the envelope and thought it was there. I am perryc3@hotmail.com.au. Yeah ,no problem with the wait, you must be excited about the on road of your project mine is a while away yet, but progressing steadily. Getting the MIG welding happening, parts are nice to buy, but the satisfaction of the handy work is a buzz. I'll sort thru my shelf for a heater control face, I know I have two, I think both are reasonable condition. The dash in my project has been hacked, the spare van, which died of rust, is cherry. Don't you just hate that?
I'll stay in touch, thanks, Craig.
