been 2 weeks now since i first called dallow conversions and have not got any closer to getting a gearbox sorted. anyone else had problems with these guys or am i not using the right code word for them to take my money. been told i would be called back every time called and have not heard thing. jeff was helpful but he's gone on holidays before he called back and confirmed anything. would go some where else but they have a 14" shifter housing that brings the shifter forward 4" which would be better than a extreme goose neck.
been having issuse with getting the truetrac for the diff done as well, but finally getting some where.
people hear the word "bedford" and suddenly customer service goes out the window.

All my dealings had been with Jeff.
If you get really stuck I could call in middle of next week for you if that helps.

thanks Mike, that may be helpful. will let ya know if i can not get it sorted.
was going to get: spigot bush, clutch plate, shifter housing, shifter boot, dust cover, and w59 gearbox which they did not have in stock but was going to get one for me. the 14" shifter housing was going to be sold with the gearbox so save some cash there. that was the first call i made to them, then ask for a time frame and a total price with freight and was told i would be called back... well that did not get any where. now looking at other options and might just get the shifter housing off them. might all be that jeffs on holidays for a few weeks and they too busy, might give it one more go.

Dellow Problems? Relax guys you don't know what problems are!!
I took my van in in January to have a 9" diff installed, a 3week job according to the mechanic - "Absolutely no worries Mate", I finally got her back at the end of July , that's right 7 months- with the noisiest diff you've ever heard, What I thought was going to be an under $3000 job turned out to be closer to $9000.
The up side is she's home now and the engineers have signed off on it, just waiting for the authorities to give me the green light for the pits and then we can start in earnest to build the dream van.
That's the problem with Bedfords , they're an addiction and all addiction come with a price tag

Jeez Bean, and there I was stressing about my $650 diff job that turned out exactly the same as yours. Even though that diff is long gone it still hurts when I think about it.
As you say, best just to focus on the final result, its only money after all :) :)

Bloody hell Bean,,, :o Was that just fitting or were they making the diff up for you as well? :-\

How the hell can this so called mechanic sleep at night, ripping people off like that, hopefully karma will pay him back for what he did

totally agree and its because of wankers like this that I try and do everything myself these days!

All I needed was 2 elephants and a sand pit and we'd have had the entire circus.
It started with the diff, took time to find one wide enough, then the re building of the diff, then the breaks didn't match, then the prop shaft didn't fit, that had to be fabricated and balanced, then on the first trip to the pits the diff leaked, couldn't get a seal had to come over from the East, Then the diff made too much noise, the guy re did it.
Then came the authorities, the van came from Victoria, they don't recognise the engineering certs over here, Had to make application to modify. got approval in principal, them the engineer had to sign off on it , another $660.00, its finally at the last hurdle , that's the green light from the Dept of transport and we can go to the pits.
Apart from the diff noise when de -cellerating - she drives really well.
In the mean time carbon fibre window and windscreen surrounds are being done, new windscreen has gone in twice, attempt no 1 had a scratch in it once they clean up after installation.
