Whos a fan of the easy roller front...im not a big fan..I like mezzmos van.. nice and clean look to it but thats it....is it just an age thing... it doesnt look like a bedford anymore...70s classic
-
im the same, the van looks great, cool flares etc, fat tyres but the front part reminds me of a tarago, i dont mind the little bonnet scoops(?) though
keep the beddy front as is....slightly changed is cool
-
If done right i quite like them ;D ;D
-
you got right boys, its an age thing!! gotta remember i grew up right smack bang in the middle of the van craze -
grandpa :)
-
50/50
I like them and like the std front.
Im 52yo
-
Agree 50/50 as I like the standard unmolested but with a custom done nicely like Mezzmo's I would be happy to be behind the wheel of either.
42 and an apprentice when a cool tradie had a Bedford
-
Well I think it looks great, like Mezzmo, I'm an old school customizer, and have changed the look of many vans, at the end of the day who cares, as long as you like it, if we tried to build something to please every body then nothing would get done
-
Totally agree with Graham
-
Customise and let customise (or not)!!!
Long live freedom of expression!!!
-
Personal choice I say, and lets be honest there are not many completely original vans out there.
I like the easy roller and Mezz's and whatever you go with you are still driving a beddie.
-
If we all liked the same stuff we'd be a pretty boring bunch wouldn't we?
-
Mezzos I think urs is best by far... the white colour works ...I guess in the 70s they would like to make futuristic. ...makes sense. ..now lots of people like classic cars.ummmm its like back to the future...
-
To be honest I like following ur build..... ur gona have it on the road ...thats what keeps me going...wicked build!!
-

Too true Mezz, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say. A few folk have commented that my van looks too bland all in one colour with no windows or paint stripes, but it is exactly the look that I wanted. Took her on a short run down the road to gas her up tonight and still can't stop smiling. Life is good.

Gordon, guess that's something you do a lot... ;)
-
The best thing about bedfords is that nobody's bed is the same as anyone elses. ... I havent seen two the same...its wicked..

Yep, she's a thirsty girl Bas. Off to visit Ray in Hamilton today.
-
Put a couple more pics of the 'Tarago' oooh gunning your killing me :D. i love the look of the old school and Gordons is a prime example! had i not gone the easy roller route i was planning the full RETRO restoration bit with wider, body colour rims, small chrome caps (originals) and a sweet little white wall tyre - chrome grill and bumpers and that's it. Simple but really effective.
I'm a lucky boy as I've got the magic bus also which is kind of in between.
-
Hey i know a buga who has two easy roller front kits and flares...
PM me if you want his number
-
hey mezz sorry about the tarago bit, i remember the van craze although i was young it left an impression. I think old school rocks, fat tyres, raised white letters, deep dished mags, murals etc
I love the easy roller, something about it, cant get enough of the pics and stories, help remember a magic simpler time
my plans for my beddie....or two is one based largly around the easy roller ....flares and wing same but different front and bonnet, possibly a single piece rear door to
-
Ha ha ha no offence taken gunning, just taking the piss! You should contact Wendy, she knows of a couple of kits. You could use the flares and modify the front to suit
-
ive got some rear flares from Ben, need to work out how id get the front ones done, being 2 piece and blending to the front, may try getting metal ones done though
Your van does look cool too, good job
-
Thanks mate, appreciate it!

i always loved the look of this van, what ever happened to it? did it ever get finished?
-
Not finished yet. I still have a bit of work to do on the interior (building dash etc.).
-
Yeah i like it 2, looks fat.
is that a recent picture Zeeman?
-
Man... that van is seriously sex on wheels ;D always liked it ::)
-
hey zeeman, any pics of your dash build. I like any custom beddy, i love to see the imagination of the owners, just a pity we dont have the money or the builders anymore to put more customs on the road. I was in the workshop this week, and looking at mine, and some how i will get it done, my wife wants to do road trips in it.

Hey Graham,
Is your front an easy roller front?
Cheers marty
-
No mines the VK front with a WRX scoop moulded into the bonnet
-
Yeah looks great,
I thought all fiberglass fronts were easyroller fronts
Just different models,
Im Glad i know now, :),
Cheers marty
-
Yes they all look very simular, not sure how much longer the easy roller front is but the VK is 300mm longer than standard and doesn't have a nice grill like Mezzmos, that grill is hot and very classy I know I will have a battle with stone chips
-
Cool,
I'm picking up the moulds for the VK front,
A full piece rear door and full piece side door tomorrow,
I want to make a front to put on my yellow CF cab chassis.
I've wanted to do this for ages.
I've Been trying to buy these moulds for years
Finally happening tomorrow, :)
-
That's great news Marty now I know who to come to for a new bottom section ;D ;D ;
Cheers
Graham
-
:D ;)
Any time Graham, I know what your talking about.
Turns out the guy I'm buying them from is the guy that made the original mould.
Him n me might get into building a few fronts to sell,
But they will be made strong and good , how they are supposed to be done.
We won't be selling anything we wouldn't put on our on beddy,s
He also built that pink cab chassis that's on eBay,
the one the hock shop was trying to sell for $15,000 that's now $10,000.
Apparently it was originally blue.

Never seen on a Bedford yet.

He showed me some of his other custom Bedfords he,s built over the 70,a n 80,s including VAN000
I will try put a few pictures up later.
I will start another thread as this one is for the easy roller front.
