Title: CF LWB 1979 - Parts needed - door handles, air filter, heater fan replacement

Hey everyone!

Well IM oficially on the road... YES!!!! my new cf 1970 LWB beddy is brilliant and nearly running like a dream... Im after a few things.

1. Does anyone know a good mechanic in Melbourne.
2. Where can i get air filters from model no. Ryco a273
3. Door Handles my locks dont work.. can these be fixed?
4. steering wheel has a slight crack
5. seat belts work but are not long enough
6. review mirror


Keen to get on the road asap ;)

Don't know where you are mate but I get all my cars done at Joch motors in dandenong, he's got me easyroller and corvette in there now. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

as far as your locks go there is a tread on here with a link to ebay landrover lock cylnders work 4 for 20 odd $$, not hard to fit either  ;D

Plus, I think that Wendy said that the belts from a Kia carnival are good and long.

Air filters? Go to a Bursons or Supercheap- if they don't have it, they can get it!

Mirrors? Try these two!

ahhhh we house the retractable part about 30 cm up from the floor and cut a hole in the rear of the front door pillar.
Ray said someone on buga mentioned there was a guy who made custom seat belts in vic some where...
use the search engine in the forum he cant remeber what  post it was

I went to JB with my other bedford to get worked on. It was a terrible experience.

Ray found the kias a good wide base. he welded up some brackets and they fitted over the beddies orginal base quite nicley. i think he took off the swivle bits as u would end up too high with ur heaed touching the roof LOL

Its a shame ur experience was not pleasant...word of mouth spreads fast.

I know Joe quite well from JB Auto's. although I would never go there to get my car worked on ( if you've ever seen the place you'd know why) but, I have to say that Joe is an extremely generous man and one of life's characters.
