ok guys & gals, i have an issue im not sure about, i have a 202 red motor with a 4 speed 1 toner box and a Holden v8 center been put into the diff. it's a 1 piece drive shaft.
what i get is a loud clunk when i let out the clutch, have checked the angle of drive line and is ok ( not climbing ), have put a new gearbox mount as old one was split on one side.
if i shift slower & give it some revs it dosen't do it or is very minimal.. it will also do it if coasting and you put your foot on the gas.
whats your ideas?? my mechanic friend says he thinks its movement in the box.
any help ideas??

Did you check the drive shaft universals ? especially the back one

yes and also the movement of the tail shaft into the back of the box. to make sure it was not hitting the end of the spline.

Sounds like a uni or diff mech play

it only real came along after i took the camper body off and put the tray back on (1ton less weight sitting on it).
i designed it as a bolt on bolt off camper body.

I think you have a bung universal joint or backlash in diff/gear box (faulty bearing?). By giving it a rev you are taking up the slack. And just as a dumb point, the exhaust isn't hitting the body. less load will have changed it's position as well. Good luck & keep us posted. Russell
