Title: 16's anyone ?

Morning All....
Just curious if any one out there is running 16 inch rims on standard LWB stud pattern, I'm noticing some of the new transits and small 3ton jap trucks are on 16's and dreamt that something out there would fit no problems....................

.......what are our options then?, change stud pattern, have some rims made....at a reasonable cost......could be a nightmare....

Luckily I already have the fix for mine... A SWB diff with holden stud pattern, that plus the disc brake front end
that I have sitting here will give me holden stud pattern all the way around.

Then all I need to do is find the wheels. I am going to go for 15" with "white wall" rubber.

Ben may have a SWB diff that has a holden stud pattern...

olly you will sacrifice load capacity if you abandon your full floating axel for a semi floating one (swb) but yes you could put any sort of wheels on you could want.. and your diff is worth a packet! i wouldnt be getting rid of that in a hurry ay!

transit wheels are the same pcd.. or some at least.. but the best thing ive seen on a lwb is disc brakes front with nice looking matching hub caps..

i have a spare hwy diff here but im reluctant to sell them cause they are so expensive to get made up if you ever need one ay..

           getting rid of the 9inch would be a last resort, I would rather reconfigure it to a suitable stud pattern, Hammers and Spanners is on the case he might turn up something really interesting, errr, in terms of wheels that is. It's a big wide world of wheel rims out there.....there will be a way, it may take time, patience and a wheel barrow load of money.....

or just get the standard rims chromed.. that would look pretty good..

Hi all,
I've been looking at 16" wheels for my LWB (single wheels not dually) Beddie too. The stud pattern is 5x6" (152.4mm). Doesn't seemto be anything else around that uses the same. Best option I have found so far is to get some late model Landcruiser VX100 alloys (5x150mm stud pattern) and get the local alloy wheel repairers to slot the holes and re-cut the countersink (they use tapered wheel nuts). $10 per hole = $200 per 4 wheels, and another $60 for a set of centre bore adapters ('cruiser wheel has 108mm centre bore, bedford has 88.9mm centre bore). I'm just looking for some cheap enough wheels now... Hopefully there's someone out there who'll stick 18" or 20" rims on their 'cruiser and get rid of the std 16" alloys.

The other advantage is that I'll actually be able to get the right size tyres for the van - I was thinking 235/60/16 rear and 215/60/16 front...

If you are looking for wheels, try the swap meet at Berwick this weekend.
Or the big swap meet at Ballarat on the 20th & 21st of Feb.
You are likely to find what you are looking for.
You might even find some Beddy stuff. ;)

There is nothing on the market that runs our stud patterns 5 or 6 stud at the moment. Adaptor plates and slotting of wheel stud holes is not the right way to go. Too dangerous!! I am in the process of getting wheel blanks drilled to our patterns. The contact in Sydney is awaiting more info from the manufacture, so standby.

Go with Bedford Mags as I have, 235x70x15 front and 275x70x15 rear, the differance if any from 235x60x16 is very little. ;)

Any decent trailer shop will be able to sell you 15 and 16 inch rims in the bedford pattern. They use the bedford pattern on trailers used in the agricultural industry.
