Title: Van in WA. sale or swap...
Post by: Bren on December 17, 2008, 03:42:19 PM
Due to the fact that i no longer need my 77 CF SWB van for what it was intended for, i can't really be bothered finishing it,
so id rather see someone else have some use out of it.
if anyone is looking for a project in WA and doesn't want to spend time/money on the engine this would be for you because
it has a new blue 202,( +60 thou pistons, hi comp head, crow cam, new starter motor, waterpump, new radiator, all hoses, belts new etc etc etc)
its an automatic, has a custom fibreglass dash (VH commodore)

just needs the following:

-it is unlicenced
-needs an exhaust. (just has the header and about 3 foot of new pipes needs the rest)
-dash to be wired up.
-shifter to be connected up.
-i think the brakes need new shoes and re-adjusting from memory, but has got a recon master cylinder. also comes with a set of V8 HZ brakes / Master cylinder.
-could definitely use a paint job.

Im looking for about a 15 foot or larger caravan to be used as a storage room, so i'd be interested in swapping if someone had one.
othewise im asking around the $2000 mark considering the completely new engine.

or if it doesn't sell ill just keep plugging away at it untill its finished in a hundred years time.

its in Mt Helena (up in the hills, near mundaring)
phone 0450 620 758

there is some rust coming through but it has been bogged up before by a previous owner,
so without ripping it back to metal there's no way of knowing how bad it is.
the rear doors are pretty bad.

and it really isnt driveable because:
1-the shifter isn't connected
2-the brakes need adjusting, (although i drove it home with them like they are, but its a bit dodgy)
3-the exhaust is pretty loud without the muffler

i have no idea what diff is in it... doesn't look original though.

i have a set of HZ discs and callipers to go with it, but i never built the conversion kit, because i decided not to finish the van.
im going to put it on ebay as soon as i can get some photos of it.

i can deliver it in perth for the cost of trailer hire if that helps.... (about $60)
Its certainly not the best van in the world but the engine has had everything done to it that could possibly get done.
it just needs someone to tidy it up and finish it off. if the weather wasn't so hot i'd probably get it driveable,
and take it for an inspection at the pits but i just cant be bothered in this heat...

Yep, Re painted the grill white yesterday as well as the bonnet.
Today carefully fitted grill, bonnet, headlight surrounds and adjusted bonnet brackets.Cleaned all windows in and out and found a square bonnet centre badge so fitted that as well.Monday hope to get most of the Dash wiring sorted so as to hook up the Commodore speedo cluster.
Just going to tidy her up for now so she's back on the road and will work out the finer points later.Plan to get her to the exhaust centre this week or next.

Bren,

Forgot to ask about the head does it have stainless steel inserts and valves to run on normal unleaded or do we need to run a additive in the fuel?  :) :)

I'd actually like to move it on but I havn't got around to doing anything about yet. Was going to put a reconditioned Blue motor that I have sitting around into it but don't know that I really have the spare time to change engines. I only need one Beddy at the moment and now it's the Van I bought from Bren. So if anyone is looking for a CF Beddy Truck  :o :o :o
