why not a Holden 6 202 conversion? standard parts for that available.
-
hi ethyl,
Being imported uk model not sure if eng & g/box mounts are in same place ? are conversion kits available ? if so do you know where I can purchase from. Thanks Aussie buga

Having gone down the V6 conversion route, i wouldnt do it again! having to do the discs etc was real pain too and i still reckon their no different to drums re stopping power. For my two cents worth, i'd put feelers out for a stock 6 cylinder front end or buy a basket case Beddie for a couple of hundred bux and get even more parts. that way you have the original engine mounting blocks and its just a matter of bolting up.

Mezz is right Get a rusted out dunga & rat all the mechanicals out of it & you will have plenty of spares You might even make a few bucks out of parts you dont need

Here is a cheapie with all the running gear you would need....and its a camper....may have some other bits and bobs

Hi mate,
having just done the v6 commodore and 4 speed auto my first suggestion is ... talk to your local RTA mechanical engineer who will need to sign it of for registration. There are all sorts of rules about how much of an increase in CC's and/or power (either one can cause you grief in NSW) and how many of the donor vehicle ADR parts have to be fitted. eg collapsible steering column, retractible seat belts, etc. One good thing for me is the brakes didm't have to be done because braking efficiency is rated on the original weight and not the new motor.
Cheers

G'day just reading about your dilemma ,I have had bedford's for over 30 years now & I actually have a set of steel factory mounting brackets from holdens that they used to sell to fit on the crossmember if you are interested ,still brand new never been fitted .I will sell for $50. Plus postage from Adelaide
