Hey ladies and gents, time has come to clear some space.
I've made up a few gumtree ads, which I'll link in here, tho none are bedford specific, some suit those of you looking to make modifications.
I will be making a bedford specific ad in the coming weeks once I have finalised my latest modification.
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-seller-other-ads.html?userId=1002886057 (http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-seller-other-ads.html?userId=1002886057)
Some things that may be of use to modifications:
Steering columns from EA and EB or ED falcons.
New manual Window mechanisms that I got because they looked similar to bedford, then I just made power windows for my van, so never tested if they fit.
Side mirrors, tho never tested them for fitting, thought they looked good in the shop tho, but ended up going a different path.
The HZ calipers were on my van, I have caliper brackets to mount them on a bedford if anyone wants them.
Plus anything else you can see that appeals to your eye ;)
I'll knock a few dollars off for multiple purchases and big ticket items for you bugas.
Cheers,
Matte

Hey Matte, i did a clean up of my work shop a couple of days ago, amazing the space. I have been designing and building a set of hand controls for my go kart and dune buggy, hope to have a working set in a few days.

Yeah for sure George, if i manage to get rid of even half this stuff I'll be enjoying the spoils of much space. This being said, i still have HEAPS more stuff i should be getting rid of aswell.
Post some photos of the hand controls when you're done.. Make up a thread about it, engineering of any sort is always awesome

Hi Matte, will do mate, so far i have made up a prototype of the hand controls just to see if they would work, they do. The problem i had to overcome here was, with go kart and dune buggy racing, and going flat chat, is how do you keep both hands on the steering wheel and be able to throttle up and brake. All hand controls out there require one hand on the controls and one hand on the steering wheel, so i adapted the F1 paddles behind the wheel, but instead of up shifting and down shifting, i brake and throttle. I am just ordering in the steel and other bits now, so as soon as i start i will document it with pics and post for you. The best part is being a kart and buggy, i don't have to worry about transport approval. YEAH.
Hey Shane, maybe you can help here, who in Qld do up custom brake and throttle cables, i will need someone to come out and measure up and make up the cables on site, for the life of me i cant think of who does them. Anyone know ?
George.

I'm not sure if they will do house calls, but try flexidrive agencies. Perth number is 9362 1544. national sales number 1300 36 37 35. Only contact I have had was for an old corolla throttle cable that's obsolete. Got me out or the cr**, so happy as. Web site as well http://www.fdrive.com.au/products/catalogues.php (http://www.fdrive.com.au/products/catalogues.php) Good luck. Keep us BUGA's updated on how you go. Cheers Russell

Hey George,
I used these guys to make my hand brake cables: http://www.atscables.com.au/ (http://www.atscables.com.au/)
They did a very nice job but I took the measurements my self though. Maybe give them a call and see if they can help with you.
-
Thanks Shane, i will give them a call today and see what they say. Being a go kart & a dune buggy, they should be able to do the job. I will let you know how i go.

Dont suppose you have some door locks from a CF Bedford mine is a 79 model see van at left
-
Nah mate, no spare door locks unfortunately.
Make a wanted ad, as someone is likely to have some on here

Hey Shane / Matte, i rang those guys about the custom cables for the go kart, and they are happy to swing by and do the job for me, so thanks for that shane. I have started on the 1st of 3 designs for my hand controls, i went with the easier of the designs first just to get my kart and buggy up and running. Should finish fabrication today and have them mounted b4 i hit with a coat of paint. Will post pics in the next day or so.
I actually found a set of racing hand controls on a site the other day, almost $10,000-00 they wanted. Get real, mine have cost a few hundred and a couple of weeks work.
