Hi guys,
I've redone the old drum brakes ( cylinders, master, booster and lines) on my short wheel base and the stop me really well. There was enough meat on the shoes to last me a while, but I'd like to source a new set before I need them. Where can I find them in Sydney?
I'll have to get some pics up soon. I'm the only electrician I know working from a bebby.
Cheers chris

I think I have a new set of shoes in the shed some where and the ones I just took off to fit disks were OK if you want them.
I am assuming the CF truck is the same as the vans for brakes

Thanks guys for the advise. Ethyl where abouts are you located?

I bought new ones about 3 years ago from the brake place down the road, you have to give them your old ones as a swap and let them know if you need them oversize to allow for machining. They re use the ones you give them for the next pair. I used central coast brake and clutch NSW They are in Gosford.

Just spoke to the local brake place, they need to have the old ones to bond new linings to, 4 day turn around, let them know it the drums have been machined so they bond the right thickness linings.

Wouldn't hurt to get the drums machined as well.

I tried to source some replacement drums a year or so ago and came up empty. I ended up taking the drums to Darbys brake and clutch in Melbourne where they were machined oversize. They then made up oversize shoes to suit. Very good job and I am back to having a pedal that doesn't need pumping before using.
Maybe talk to your local brake place if you can't find any replacements.
Also I discovered that you can get some specially cast but that was about $1400 a pair.
Hope this helps.
