Hi All, I'm looking for some advice on the best type of spring compressor tool to use to remove my front springs. Doesn't look like there is enough room to use a standard macpherson strut spring compressor.

You shouldn't need one. I never have. Just drop the bottom wishbone away gradually with a trolley jack under it so it doesn't get away on you.

it wont get away from you, just pop your balljoint but leave the shock bolted, it'll move a few inches then unbolt the lower arm and shock to remove spring.
To put it back in:
if suspension is still in the van, put jack under wishbone and jack up, sometimes you'll need someone on the step jumping up and down a little
if suspension is out, turn upside down and sit on the wishbone.
watch your fingers and use the shock

Thanks for the advice Rogue and Busy. The front is out of the van at the moment. Yesterday I seperated the 350 and auto box from the front suspension. Need to pressure clean everything today before I start stripping down the front end.

I tried leaving the shock in but with mine it jammed up and I couldn't get the shock out when the wishbone dropped and it was a pain in the butt trying to jack the wishbone back up enough to try and lever the shock out. Just found it easier to remove the shock first and then have a jack just under the wishbone to catch it when I loosened the ball joint. Refitting was just a reversal.
