I,m working on my rear brakes and have hit a bit of a hurdle.
Am replacing the wheel cylinders with Mini ones but the small pins on the back of the new cylinders don,t quite line up with the holes in the backing plate.
Are those pins necessary ? What is their purpose ? Do I slightly modify the backing plate or just cut off the pins :-\ .
The Mini cyl,s only have an inlet port and a bleeder . I put a tee-piece in the line between the 2 cylinders and connected the flexible hose to it .
I now have a bleeder at both wheels . This shouldn,t be any drama should it ?
Cheers , Bob.

Hi.
Thanks for the reply . A part number would be good . The ones I,ve got suit a Mini Cooper , got a number 4411 on the box .
Did you have to change your brake lines or did you have a cyl with an inlet and outlet port ?
What is the trick to getting the e-clip on ? When I pulled my brakes apart they were missing . The cylinders must have been just floating around in there!!
Cheers , Bob.

I drilled the a new hole in the backing plate ,And yes its better to have a bleeder on both sides thats the difference between early and later model drums.

Ok part number on the box is 4241-075 Rear Wheel Cylinder then NZ-2076 Brand: KS Hydraulic Parts, there are Mini, but not sure what model, but has inlet and bleed. Clips just slip / push into the grove around the bottom of the inlet, cylinder must be pushed right in for grove to be visable on back of backing plate, a little force needed.

Thanks mate.
I just noticed on the box ( under a sticker ) the number 4241396 so must be slightly different . They will fit ok with a little file work though .
Cheers.

Those are off the 10" drum, the mini ones replace them, just need to file / cut a little of the shoe mounting point on thr backing plate as no longer need as cylinders have a shoe locator on them..
