Hi guys,
Would anyone be able to post some photos of a factory six cylinder engine mounts and radiator (mainly the radiator mounts)
Also, if anyone knows if the ozzie 6 came out in auto & manual or just one of them, and if both do they use the same gearbox mount on the chassis
Reason being, I have been offered a jumbo bedford (very rotten) but has a 6 cly on lpg ... the mounts look a little different, as in not factory but who knows.

I dont have a pic right now but i had to change cross member mounts slightly when i swapped from man to auto. Yeh they came out with both. I can get pic later if no one beats me;) ben

I changed my 77 SWB from 3 speed manual to TRIMATIC and the same gearbox mount and cross member was used the manual and trimatic are the same length with the same driveshaft yoke spline

possibly the m21 (bathurst model) 4 speed is slihtly different. thats the manual box i was using.. to the trimatic auto. definatly had to change crossmember mounts but about half an inch..

This van has a 4 speed manual (currently out of van) but the van (is lwb) only has one set of bolt holes for the gearbox mount where as my swb has two sets of mount holes - we only had the slant 4 cly here in NZ, 6 cly were either imports or conversions.

One more question, did the 6 cly manual come out with a cable or linkage clutch system (clutch cable or clutch linkage) ?

busy they came with a cable clutch.hows your van coming along havent seen anything new on your website?

Yeh i had 3 sets of holes in mine;) id say everything has been done to this van lol but those holes were too far away i ended up just drilling new holes where the cross member mounts to the back off the tranz. Seems to work fine. Mine had a plate welded there already so i was not compromising strength either. Ben

The gearboxes used in CFs behind the 6 cylinder Holden motor were the 3 speed synchromesh manual, the M22 4 speed manual, and the 3 speed Trimatic automatic.
All gearboxs are the same length.
The Holden 4 speed manual came in 3 types:
M20 as fitted to sedans,
M21 as fitted to Monaros and Toranas. 1st gear was taller for fast takeoffs.
M22 as fitted to OneTonners and Bedfords. 1st gear was very low for starting off with a load.

Beddymad, I updated the custom van pages the other day, adding pictures of the mounted grill and front spoiler. I have a set of headers for the V8 but since I lifted the back up a bit (and lowered the engine to suit), the headers are now to long so have to hunt down some block huggers or something. Am just sorting out fiddly bits like radiator hoses, fuel lines, brake lines, shifter and gas cables ... because the engine is so far back everything has to be extra long. Body wise it's just the outer flares to do on the outside and floor around the engine and dash to do on the inside.

what holden 4 speed box had a side load shifter??

by side load, do you mean linkage to the side,...... if you do it's an aussie, or may be the old dreaded opal. more than likely the aussie
