Title: The Dolphin Bedford camper back on the road!
Post by: aussieneil on December 08, 2012, 10:32:06 PM
(http://www.grouseguitars.com.au/dolph/DSC_4439.jpg)

After what started as a bit of a tidy-up of the exterior of 'Dolph', my 1974 CF camper with its original Dandenong (Vic) Dolphin camper body is finally on the road again. As with all these things, the job ended up a LOT bigger than fist anticipated, and turned into virtually a full restoration.

I'll soon take detailed photographs of the full interior and exterior, but those interested can see some shots taken before the project began, and during the work, by clicking here (http://www.grouseguitars.com/dolph).

It's good to be back on the road!

Cheers,

Neil

Brilliant resto, Neil. Wonderful work. Great series of photos too, you didn't include one of the Dolph
driving into the sunset, though.  :)

Thankyou all for your comments! I am just back from a weekend away gigging with my band, Ooozin' Blues, which I did with Dolph. It was marvellous being able to relax at the gig, have a few beers, and then simply sleep in the camper after the gig before driving home in the morning.

Brilliant resto, Neil. Wonderful work. Great series of photos too, you didn't include one of the Dolph
driving into the sunset, though.  :)

I just did this one this evening for you, Hobbit! No clouds tonight, so the sunset was more subtle than normal. Hope you like it!

I have taken a lot of photos today, so will work on selecting and uploading them tonight.

Cheers,

I have updated the http://www.grouseguitars.com.au/dolph (http://www.grouseguitars.com.au/dolph) web page to show the photographs I took today which show the vehicle in a lot more detail. Enjoy looking through them all!

I'm amazed Neil, you've got 'Dolph' looking like NEW. Thanks for the sunset pic.  ;D

Right now, I'm more in awe of the beautiful vintage instruments on your website.
I'm a guitarist and original owner of an alder bodied '75 Strat. Couldn't help drooling
over the olympic white '76 listed. Man, you have some good stuff.  8) 8) 8)

I guess your pooch was named after Mr. Fender?  Cheers mate.

Yes indeed, Leo the tonehound was named after Mr Fender, while the resident cat is named Orville after Mr Gibson!

Thanks for the kind words regarding the Grouse Guitars website (I sometimes look up the list of stuff that has sold over the years (http://www.grouseguitars.com.au/sold.htm) and feel quite a few twinges!) and the rejuvenated Dolph. It'll be driving into many sunsets yet!
