the blue ones nice, not too expensive
-
the green one is the same as my camper, he has painted the aluminium window frames black, they are factory windows, if it has the standard camper interior I reckon it would be a good buy, doesn't come with a side door though, only rear barn doors but should have a fridge, sink, water tank under, 2 burner stove and seats that fold down to a double bed, new paint covers heaps so prob got rust like all beddies. a $1000 less and it would be worth a look I reckon, ask the buyer if it still has the original camper fit out. check out my gallery that will give you an indication of the fitout ;)
-
i talked to the guy about the green one. he's firm on $5500. needs rewiring and couple things for rworthy. it's a factory uk camper. fridge doesn't work. the gas and elec needs cert (said he'd remove them if he was to rworthy it). needs brake booster kit, horn, laminex in cupboards. no rust. new windscreen, radiator. wooden poptop. disc front. looks nice. he sold it to someone in sydney but it fell thru. should really drop the price i reckon. i mean, fridge doesn't work. where do you keep the beer?
-
Get him down on the price - 4k max. Bargain him down - nothing to lose :)
-
maria, omg i hope those pictures u sent me arnt the green one are they?
marty
-
hey M, thats a big ask for that amount of work required, so he was gonna remove the gas and electrics if he was gonna get roadworthy huh? oh does that mean that when the buyer gets the van it should be alright, I think not .... $5500 and include the cost of getting the work required to get a roadworthy and the cost to bring it to the mainland? add a few more hundred dollars to get mobile so you can at least drive it home and a few hundred dollars to go across and bring it back and soon that purdy green half completed camper is looking a little pricy, my opinion? for what its worth ........ hmmmm, I would be doing some sums and serious thinking ....... not for me at that price thanks (then again I got no money to buy anything anyways :-\)
-
maybe buy the blue one and paint it green ;)
-
yeah $5,500 is way too much with all those problems.
maybe $3,000 sounds better, no offence to the owner ment.
but sounds like its got some major dramas.
marty
-
yeah the blue one looks heaps better value,
looks a nice straight standard unit,
looks like a good van to start with then u could build to own specs

Hey was talking with maria last night about this van saying it must have been owned by a crazy violinist i recon;) notes on the side far out
-
more to the point, have you seen the one on ebay now in Bayswater, now thats a bargain!! if I was back in beddie buying mode thats one I would swoop on ....... ;)
-
hey benn, i'm heading out to look at the van in bayswater ;)
-
Cool. Your making the most of the missus being kind are nt you.! Well dont push her too much
-
had a captain hook at the van in bayswater, lot of work needed to get it to a reasonable standard, he has hit every panel with the grinder and taken it back to bare metal from the waist line up but below that requires a lot of effort to make good, passenger side lower panel is pushed in big time and as it is double skinned will need mucho panel work, a few holes here and there needs migging and new panels made up, side door full of holes in usual places, at least he has ground the paint off so you clearly see whats needed, none of the doors close as they should, the rear one piece only opens to nose hieght so will need re working to make it open higher, I don't like bagging vans cause it may put prospective beddie owners off investing in the beddie .... but ..... this one will require considerable work to bring it up to a good standard, will make a great project van as it has disc front and highway diff and the hq stud pattern all round is a bonus, gas tank is way out of date and didn't get a chance to check the running gear or suspension, in my opinion albiet very humble, $2,600 as a starting bid is way too much, don't think you would make that much on selling her as parts, to put back on the road in a nice condition? ummmm ... I would allow at least $3000 and thats if you do the work yourself, main item is body panel work as he has painted the bare panels in black enamel to stop the rust so all that would have to come off as there is no primer/undercoat under it and there are grinder scratch marks everywhere so mucho straightening and lots and lots and lots of sanding before final colour. Engine rocker cover is painted a nice red colour and thats about all I can tell about the motor cause he didn't offer to start her up although in fairness to him he was wanting to go home, he did say the motor was recoed some time ago? not sure how long ago but. $500 for me would be a good score, anything over that for the condition its in would need serious consideration, hope my humble opinion helps anyone interested in it. keep on vannin ;)
-
Does that mean its not a bargin any more eddy;)
-
not at that price mate
-
about 4 years ago I offered him $80 for a chromed grill he advertised in the Trading Post, he wanted $200 I said too much for a second hand job and walked away, interesting that the chrome grill is now on the front of this van and still me reckons worth about $80 ??? go figure, so he has already shown that he will not come down on price so good luck trying to get the price down .... for me not worth the effort to bargain with him
-
what about the music man van that would be a good starter for her
-
Will definat be looking at hat one
-
hi,
when i looked at the one in bayswater he started it up all right and i reckon it sounded pretty good. it was just to move it forward so we could lift up the back. i had a couple of revs and it had no trouble going back to idle after a good go. don't know if that means much as i'm not too technical. but yes, they're not to flexible on the price. no rust on the roof thou.
