Title: Steering Coupling
Post by: Dave on October 09, 2008, 06:24:21 PM
Does anyone know where I can get a steering coupling/bush for my 76 CF?

The one that was in it was made out of one of those nolaprene type plastics and is marked HO1100.
I have tried a few car parts places but no luck so far.  I found one that was marked CF Bedford  and the catalogue said it would fit a 76 but when it arrived it was only about 10mill wide and round and the one on the van is about 25mill wide and square.

If I fail to locate one tomorrow does anyone in Perth have one of a donor vehicle?

Cheers
dave

beddies have a couple of different types.

someone told me once torana had a similar rubber, not sure if it's right or not but could be worth a shot

go for the rubber one, dont get the noathane ones, they transfer the vibrations to the steering wheel

Thanks for your replies.

I managed to find an original CF one yesterday at WA Suspensions, they dont stock them anymore but one of the guys there was using it as a paperweight as he couldnt bring himself to throw it out.  It is black rubber with metal banding.

The one listed in the Nolaprene catalogue for a CF does not fit mine, the catalogue one is round and only 10mill thick whereas the one I put on is 25mill thick, with metal corners.  I reckon nolaprene got the catalogue numbers mixed up unless some did come out round couplings (My bedford manual pictures a square one)
