sounds liek the site needs an image based recognition system to prevent computers being able to create accounts and then flood the system..

You mean like the one thats been setup for at least the last 12 months? :P

hahah, i just remember there not being one when i signed up, my bad.
sounds liek we need some extreme measures, possibly required posts in a 'verification board' that give the mods a chance to decide whether they're scammers or legit?

Ive lost track of the number Ive deleted today.

And the bastards are still on line posting more!
-
Spammers are like the virtual bubblewrap - one push and they gone muhahaha
-
Guys, when you delete the accounts, make sure you select the option to remove the topics and posts at the same time. Make the clean up a whole lot easier.
Can you tell me what section the spam has been in this time? I set new registrations to only have access to the "Introduce Yourself" section.
-
it seems like the previous deleted posts aren't removed when account removed
and stay in deleted section
-
Yes it does seem that way. Another bug to fix ???
If you get bored, have a look through the members list (sort by website) and hover your mouse over the website link. There are lots of accounts that have been created in the past in an attempt to advertise. Any that are obviously spam, delete the account. Just be sure they have no posts.

Can do, its raining here (and very windy) so no work on the van today
