How do I work out stud pattern for my beddie? Thers been some interest on how Suzuki wheels where fitted to my van,the wheels where on the van when purchased the old owner has shot the gap overseas. Is the Suzuki pattern same as Bedford? I have no Idea. Is there a way I can work it out? Pattern is same on all 4,spare wheel is crap space saver! can anyone enlighten me on 'Vauxhal cresta high speed diff ' on rear?
P.S...my first beddy ever!

hey ezymarsh, if you can locate another beddie and try their spare wheel on the stud pattern that should answer all your and our enquires, or maybe you an try a beddie wheel at the wreckers, is the front disc brake or drum brake, better still can you post a pic of the (stud pattern) of the front end?

I'm not sure how how to work out the pitch circle diameter, but if you pick 3 studs and messure the distance between each one, centre to centre then you can compare that with the same messurements on an another wheel.

I googled and apparently you measure the circle circumference the studs sit on,add up the amount af studs and this is the pattern, mine measured about 135mm so suzuki pattern must be 5x135mm. It looks like the hubs and drum have been redrill'd and restud'd to fit suzuki wheels, the original circle circumference was about 150-155mm, this must be bedford pattern-5x150mm-155mm. was a bit hard to measure so not exact! Have we finally cracked it? Check out the pix for a visual, have to expand it to see the measurements!

yeh looks like a redrilled job ....... damn I was hoping there was a secret suzuki stud pattern that fitted beddies studs ..... buga!

Apparently you can get the PCD of a 5 stud wheel by measuring from the back of one stud to the centre of one of the opposite studs. I haven't checked this out but will do so at the weekend.
Hey Ezymarsh, nice van mate. Where are you based in NZ? Be keen to catch up sometime for a beer or three.
To answer your question about Vauxhall cresta diff. Back in the late 70's, early 80's the easiest way to get a better diff ratio was to fit a PC cresta crownwheel and pinion into the CF diff housing. Bolted straight in and gave about a 3.5:1 ratio. Much better than the std CF ratio and just as strong. I fiited one to my old van Windsong runing a 283 chev and it worked fine. They would be bloody hard to find now but were a dime a dozen back then. Hope this helps.
Garry.
