Title: WA last minute York cruise
Post by: MaTTe on September 29, 2012, 05:32:14 PM
Hello Ladies and Germs,
I've just got off the phone with Dano, and the decision has been made to go look at a SWB body to potentially house his 4WD driveline, in an effort to preserve the glory of his green SWB. So a cruise tomorro, Sunday the 30th of September down to York is on the cards. We figure a start time of around lunchtime with a meeting point of wherever suits the masses.
We'll both be leaving from NOR however can meet anyone and everyone else somewhere between here and York if need be.
Get involved.

Matte get some tie down straps, ramps and come and pick me up, I'm up for it, I'm sure my wheelchair will fit in the back especially since you have the extra head room

Mate, you were only 11 hours too late, i'd have thrown your chair in the back and strapped you into shotgun had you let us know early enough ;)

I managed to score a spare XC grille, not needed for my van, however will sit well in my shed until the point where i have use for it.

Awesome cruise, the country roads were soaked up by my van, noticeable improvement since doing the suspension and steering column on my van.

Bit disappointed that Dano's van had my measure 'at the speed limit' tho ;) haha. Was an awesome cruise all the same!

Matte fit some tie down eyelets in the floor of the van so we are good to go anytime give me a call on 0428951620 if you ever want to take me any where as long as it's not ballet or opera other than that you don't need to ask me twice

what an awesome day special thanks to Dan Wallace (selling the van for a mate) thanks to Dan Swindley (my mate) whom some of you have met already (Van Nats) and of coarse, Matte, just for having another cool Beddie and joining us on the cruise. Was a wild day,I assure you especially the ride home....... Dan W in York has an awesome shed of fun and didn't hesitate to accomodate us as three strangers rocked up to check out another Beddie garden ornament, sufice to say it just wasn't the body I was looking for but certainly salvagable. Craig don't think it had a high speed diff but to be honest wasn't looking and forgot to ask, sorry bud. Standard van drum brake front end prob 173 or 202 exhaust manifold unbolted, usual rust, Beddie stud pattern with Jelllybeans, shot tyres. being used as a second shed for more Holden car parts.
It was good to see another LWB on the road and to watch how they handle and looks on other peoples faces when there two similar vans tearing it up on the highway, especially the yuppies in the silver Lamborghini being harassed by a dozen cruisers on bikes only to look up as we both crossed a small bridge at the same time.......Gold! The blat home was fast and furious, as Dan quoted like two horses bolting for home, bit hairy at times considering it was double demerits and we were driving in to the sun(cameras harder to see) but had a fat time and a fat cruise .... KEEP ON TRUCKIN.

sorry folks didn't really get any photo's. Think next time it is a must do , they would have been great.... Buga!
