G'day
Mate I wish!
I am old, grey, and wrinkly. A Bedford tat on me would look like it had been in an accident.
-
If you botex the tattoo, that might help with the wrinkles and gresian for the grey

I tried googling but couldnt find any answers.
In the tattoo the Beddy Griffen is holding a flag with the letter B, on my van the flag has the letter V.
My guess is the V is for Vans and the B for bus, What about trucks?
If you have the answer could you please share this Bedford mystery to me.
Cheers Frank

V would be for Vauxhall
B probably for Bedford
-
V= Victoria
B= Bitter
VB a great Aussie beer, ;D

i just bought a bedford bus bonnet emblem and it has a V in it so there goes ur theory Frank of v for van and b for bus....
-
Quoted from Wikipedia...
this got Ray interested in when the first bedford truck was made....
Bedford used the Griffin logo of Vauxhall Motors, derived from the heraldic crest of Fulk le Breante, who was granted the Manor of Luton by King John. By marriage, he acquired property in London, known as Fulk's Hall, which over time, came to be the locality of Vauxhall, the original home of Vauxhall Motors. The griffin returned to Luton in 1903 when Vauxhall Motors moved there.
so im guessing the V is for vauxhall......

V is for vauxhall... B is for bedford.... bet my left knacker on it ;D i have had the same bus emblem as you scord wendy, fitted to the front of "ol futile" for a while now... but scored this one at a garage sale this weekend, which am fitting today..... this one also does not have the griffin holding a flag, and said griffin is looking forward, not behind itself.... enjoyable trivia if nothing else :D ;)

V = vehicle

G'day
A bit of history:
Bedford Vehicles, a subsidiary constructing commercial vehicles, was established in 1930 by Vauxhall as the Stock Market Crash of 1929 had made importing American trucks uneconomical.
The reason for the V is to remind everyone who made Bedfords. Before the flag:

The Vauxhall logo over the years:

You can pic the age of a Bedford logo by looking at the similar Vauxhall logo.

I remember seeing a Beddie wearing the Vauxhall badge, when I was a kid.
Here's my Griffin offering.
