Title: What a good idea for restraining the cargo door!
Post by: BlackBedford on August 23, 2012, 09:37:14 AM
G'day

I just saw something and I thought "why didn't I think of that!"

I have always had a problem with the cargo door swinging around onto the passenger door and making a loud banging noise. I have tried elastic straps to some success.

I just saw a neat idea using an old seat belt:

The door only opens half way. If you want it to open all the way, unclip the belt.

I've had the bit of seatbelt on my side-door for a while now. But never actually thought to use the clip part. That's GOLD!

mine uses the buckle part, so one can shorten or lengthen it as necesary, without it clouting the passenger door if fully open.....  tis handy...

gidday
I did both my rear cargo doors with old seat belts as the factory metal stays didnt stop the doors from flying round and damaging the paint on top of the tail lights.

cheers Jeff
