here is the door lockers.. i made up brackets off them to mount onto the end of the door..

wiring is not actually that bad it all just clips together except for power, ground and either plug in indicatiors or in my case i am hooking it up to the horn.. just in case i loose the beddy in a car park.. then i can hear it lol..
not sure exactly what im going to do on the barn doors yet.. maybe a sliding bar or something.. will work that later..

sorry that second pic doesnt make much sense cause the camera was on an angle.. ive rotated the pic to make it more logical.. its now the right way up.. if you see where the motor connects to the lever upthe top i drilled it out a bit so that it fits over it.. works like a treat.

what kit ben? how much?
-
looks good Benn ;D
where'd u get the kit and how much?
most of the one's look like they would break easy, or not be able to handle pushing the barrels.
what happens if you have a flat and your outside of the car?
-
it was just a kit that was on special at super cheap for $99 i managed to get it for $95..
if your happy with your key its only like $29 for all the mechanisms without the remote and reciever..
yeh real happy with it hey..
took me a day to install it thou and thats only 3 doors.. still got rear one to do.
cheers

just a warning about central locking on bedfords, if the unit is on a hair trigger it can be set off just by leaning on the door handle.
I don't want to put to much info on here, but try set them up so they operate at the end of the key travel, not at the beginning
-
i got rid of my key tabs so the key wont work any more.. but thanks might have to see if i can crack mine....

Hey Ben,
Now all you need to do is install remote door poppers and then you can take the outside handles off completely. Depending on the outputs from your Central Locking control unit you could also use that as the input for the poppers so that you dont need 2 remotes. ;D
Cheers, Nathan.

hmmm interesting..

if you have an alarm with spare channels you can use them for your doors, windows, engine start ... anything electrical
-
Hey thats a fantastic idea;) what other ideas do people have as to what you could control via remote? And what would you do if you didnt have an alarm? Could you just get a remote box thingy? Cheers ben
-
the "remote box thingy" is the heart behind it all, have one of them and you can control anything electric - within your channel limit

hey ben,
a question .
how did you keep the wires tidy, especially the long one needed for the side door?
Anything special to keep it neat, are they offset so they dont pop out of the door sill?
-
just like running speaker cable except the side door section between the side door and van where i dont know it just sits out at moment. but im going to gull wing fibreglass cargo door soon so i wont have to worry about it.
i actually ran the wire up the inside of the front windscreen pillar and along the roof inner guttering and down to half way in the door then out to the door.
ill take a pic it will make much more sense. but youll figure it out..

it was real easy to setup, easer than the miss's car (she liked mine after i finished)
the only problem i seem to have is the screw looking blocks that connects the rods.
an the driver door is a bit of a hair trigger when not shut properly.. (door drops)
i got the yellow stronger ones..
the only thing is there not strong enouth an only pop not hold for as long as power is connected..
eg i tryed using one as the inside door opener for the side door. (looks good, dont work tho)

Cant remeber where but I have seen contact pads on door openings.
They look like a rubber block with brass contacts on them, how they work is,there are two pads, one in the door and one in the door frame, when the door is closed, the two pads come in contact with each other and the circuit is completed, when the door is opened, they come away from each other, no dangley wires to be seen.
Another way is to use wire like a telephone cord wire.

Im going to do this on my van.
Im planning to use these (or similar) for the door. Very simple to install and clean.

thats the go:)

G'day
I have used them to set up a door light.
Fit a light in the bottom of the door and power it off a large capacitor or small nicad. Use the Sliding Van Door Contact Kit to charge the circuit and a door switch in the door to turn it on and you will have a neat door light without wires hanging about.
