Title: GD3000 Alarm
Post by: taggraphx on August 10, 2012, 06:06:40 PM
This is the new GD3000 alarm system for the van, it has three sensors, Zac,Zoe and Dora, each one of these sensors has the abillity to inflect serious pain to any intruder who has insanely ignored the 10 meter visual warning and ventured into the death wish area, the system also has the added bonus of deterring any tin shakers and window washers when stoped at lights, (RSPCA collectors can over ride the system). The sensors can be distracted for .5 seconds if shorted with boxes of scooby snacks but will very quickly reset them self's once consumed.
We know this system works well on other vehicles, but has been specifically designed for Bedfords, only one thing better than a great dane in a Bedford, and thats three

The trouble with these three, once they get in, they don't want to get out, a real problem if you plan to do some work on it

Danes and Mastiffs are beautiful. Unfortunately, the big dogs have a shorter lifespan.

Hi Ben, Rottie Mastiff cross. That particular unit is now deceased...I don't know what he'd stuck his nose into on that day. They're cheaper to run than kids, or our Beddies for that matter. Yeah, the trick is good training and plenty of affection. the more time you spend with them, the better they work. My current unit, a death row rescue, goes everywhere with me. Like any Rottie, you can't stop them from guarding your possessions. Check him out...pic added at my introduction thread.

Hey mate, speaking of units, my current temperature sender unit reads a bit hot since the change to the 186. I bought another one from ebay 'cause it was listed 'For CF Bedford - Holden Red Motor' and it's totally wrong. Do you have a spare original one (173), or know what I should be chasing up? Both of these senders I have are 120c.

G'day

I've got an alarm that really gives a fright to anybody getting into the back seat of my van:

I tell everyone it is a dog but they don't believe me.

G'day BlackBedford,

I'll bet that gets a few second looks. SCARY!!

I have an old  Bedford sales brochure which shows the Cab/Chassis models too. I'll post this through the week sometime. Haven't managed to see this brochure posted on here so far.

I just tried to post a PDF, then the JPEG's of the 1976 sales brochure, but no luck. The file size is too large I guess. We'll have raincheck that, until I seek advice.

these are awesome .....
question for some who knows ...
does the cab/chassis , chassis fit a van body without much mods?
and are they a full chassis ... can you remove the cab and have a rolling chassis ?

The cab/chassis truck combo is the same as the ambulance.
The cab is welded on like the vans, they wont fit directly under a van, you'd have to either cut out the original (make sure you brace everything first) but even then the body isn't designed to be mounted on a chassis, will bend and twist.
If you want to run a chassis, run the new rails inside the old ones

The worst of all, is when they perfume themselves with 'Le Carcassrot'. >:(

Myself and a workmate, had to endure 20kms of this sickly stench, when my dog found something dead to roll in, while out on a job. We threw him in a dam on the way home, which didn't help at all. It was, 'heads out the windows' all the way.

MORE DOG TALES FROM THE BEDDO

My purebred Rottie bitch (van dog #3) was wary of strangers. A group of black American tourists, dressed like 'Rock Stars'(in leather & bling), approached my van, asking if they could "pet" my dog.
Before I could warn them, she snapped at the first hand that came close. Whoops. They left so quickly, I couldn't find out if they were famous.

My earlier mutt (van dog#2), used to curl up on passenger's the seat. (pre harness days) As I was turning right into our street, he accidentally pawed the door lever, while trying to sit up. The door flew open and out he went. The driver following said he landed flat on his back. He was fine. This dog had more lives than a cat. He was stolen twice, hit by a car, shot, poisoned, impounded numerous times, and of course, the general fight injuries. He was one tough character, despite being the one that used 'Odour Le Carcassrot'.

Oh yeah...........................

I should add HUNG to that previous list. He went over a fence on a rope once.
Lucky I was nearby.

Another dog story...

My Father had a black and white dog called Snoopy who marked everything as his and ruled the roost. One day he was strutting across the lawn and I decided to play a trick on him by growling into the end of the hose as he went past the other end. Well he jumped out of his skin and started barking at the hose, so between laughter I growled back. He got really worked up and attacked the hose, chewing the end fairly badly. Oops.

Well the problem was that after that for a couple of months he attacked every hose he saw wherever my Father went.
