get out in the garage, finish a little project, make someone else smile

or have some fun:
Text random number and write: ok I've hidden the body now what?

Dig holes in the back lawn late at night so the neighbours wonder what your doing

Run into a shop really excited and ask what year it is, when they tell you run out yelling "it worked"

Hey Benny, not being able to work on the beddy for almost 2yrs now is depressing, wasting away the day gets me down. I need to feel productive or i sink into depression, so in the last week i have completed 3 metal work jobs in the workshop, and this week i have had a tradie here doing some work. And next week i will be back in the workshop starting on 2 new fabrication jobs, and the whole time i am looking at ways to get the beddy finished. I have also been dragging out the bobcat and doing some work around the property. And i am always doing research on here,  so as long as i stay busy i am winning the war on depression. In the end benny if you have the time to sit around and get depressed, that is the worst thing you can do, stay busy, build us a heap of fibreglass bits.   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D But as i know, it is easier said then done, and everyone is different.

i just roll with it ben  ;) knowing i will come out of it eventually, n remember it is a state of mind. what one feels & what one thinks are not the same, one cant help what one feels, but one can help how they think about what they feel , n sometimes changing how you think can in effect help how one feels. hugs help too even if it is only one from the dog.  ;)       ...... are you missing your .."i,ll make it all betterer" t shirt?, mate.  :D  :D  :D

somtimes we lose direction in life and to many things that need doing can become over whelming, I personaly try and focus on one project at a time and finish it. try not to start somthing that you know you will have to put  aside and go onto somthing else, finishing somthing can be very gratifying and help your self esteem. I am now in the over 50 bracket and like most people have had lots of ups and downs, but I will allways remember when I had cancer and was having my treatments at Peter macs, being able to walk out of there every time gives you a whole different perspective on life.
surounding your self with good friends helps to, we also have lots of dogs and horses, which keep me happy, especially when I was working at home for myself. I also have a fantasic wife. (thought I had better put that in especially if I want to get that beddie)  :D :D :D

Go and get some exercise. Serious exercise. Something that generates a major sweat and has you totally knackered at the end of it and do it with someone else. You can't beat natural endorphins for making you feel better. When I'm down in the dumps (or maybe just been dumped  ;) ) I usually go out and do a few RPM or Pump classes at the gym. It's amazing how you feel afterwards and takes your mind off things too. The hard bit is doing it but once you get started you're away.

Stay off the piss and any other kind of stimulant / depressant.

thanks for your input people. i dont feel down very often, i just have the odd day where somethings triggered a low and id like to be able to take control of my feelings a bit quicker.

i know i have too much to do to waste a day getting over a low..

id say everyone would get this every so often just was wondering how others combat it. so thanks..

When im feeling down....I try to encourage my self by recounting all the good things in my life and try and declutter my life of things That arnt important.

Or find someone who needs help and do something good for them and you'll be amazed at
How that will help you find a different perspective on life.

If you have too many uncompleted projects that can cause one to be a bit
Overwhelmed...so prioritize the ones you really want..and can do..and get rid
Of the others.

Go for a run or walk along the beach or somewhere nice and take deep breaths
and encourage yourself that tomorrow is full of new oportunities.

if you believe in God (as I do ...then talk to him and off load all your concerns)

I'm sure you will feel much better

Cheers

Ian

Hey Ben you have seen some of my nightmare, and if I told you the rest of it I could make you cry.

If most of these apply:
the sun is shining somewhere
you mostly have a pulse
you can get a meal and drink even if you have to pay for it
you don't physically have a knife in your back
there are no bars on the window with you locked in by someone who wants to do you harm
then
You are doing better than most people in the world, so get on with it.

ride a bike or stick your head out the window of your Bedford doing 110 down the highway(legal), it blows all the shit in one ear and out the other, just like listening to the missus. And as she says, "just eat your concrete, tommorrows a fresh day"
