might be a dead plug?
do a compression test on that cylinder if its not a dead plug. plugs can show spark just slipped in the lead but can fail under compression.
is it back firing or coughing through the carby,
backfire = leaking exhurst valve.
if you put your hand flat over the tip of exhurst pipe (when cold) does it suck your hand onto it every 5 fires???
cough through carby = leaking inlet valve.
if its a leaking valve its possible to lap a valve without taking the head off, make sure the piston in that cyl is up top, just put a fitting into that plug hole with 150psi pumping continuous into the cylinder, remove the valve cletes and spring etc.
u can make a fitting by smashing the white porcilin off an old plug and welding a compressor fitting onto it.
take all precautins not to drop that valve into the cylinder, put a few laps of masking tape around the valve stem above the valve stem guide to hold the valve up.
u got 1 number 2 many in brother steve,s number 2, ;)
just a few things i thought of instantly through same experiances
cheers marty

Yeah could be a plug, swap it with another one and see if the symptoms move following the plug.
Then plug leads, one could be faulty.
Or points worn abit.
If none of that - compression test next, could be a burnt or sticking valve

YEP, thanx marty n Waz<<lol!
Steve said ALL new plugs, cant swap leads as they dont quite reach but thr not new,
this 5th lead could be faulty hey?
OHHHH i hope its not a valve, steve frowned that and put his no good head on :-\
Dont have a compression tester,<<BUT IF ANY ONE HAS ROOM BRING IT SAT for me,lol..IF i make it??LOVE POOCHI,lol!
Cheers boyaz! ;D

this may help ya feel a bit better Sensational Alex Harvey Band - Shake That Thing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zsl28ihjSsQ#) so click and shake that thing rizzo

Now back to stressing,lol,..work beddy worrrrk! :-[
-
could also be dissy cap
-
yep could be cap,
caps can get hairline cracks and fill up with lead dust from the coil button and redirect the spark somewhere u dont want it to go.
thus not firing right on that cyl.
-
Shelly is there any water in the cyl take plug out crank motor over and look for any shit coming out of the plug hole just poss that you may have blown a head gasket here is another to get stuck in ya head The Raveonettes - Love In A Trashcan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRUqpgg-8Ps#) hope it all works out rizzo
-
OK,all yr theory's are getting WORSE now, Blown HEAD gasket...Noooooo,i feel sick! :-[
No song will cheer me up now Rizz,Noooo! ???
-
its prob just a dead plug,
look at all theories but never worry 2 much till its diagnosed.
how did it happen? was it instant? 1 min running good then started running bad?
ive seen friends that race boats n cars doin services between races and change spark plugs throwing half the plugs over their shoulders (new plugs straight outa the boxes)
they were sponcered by leading plug manufactuars as well.
not naming any companies. lol.
yeah dont think disaster till the last draw poochie.
its prob something really simple.
cheers marty

Are you sure its only one cylinder that is not firing?
You could have leads 4 & 5 or 5& 6 around the wrong way..
from the dizzy cap its 1-5-3-6-2-4.
If not, check the plug gap, or put an old/replacement plug in.
Make sure the plug wires 'snap' onto the plugs.
take number 5 plug out and run the motor (or remove power to the coil and crank the motor) and see if any fluids spurt out of the cylinder.
Pull the rocker cover off and check the push rods aren't bent, and better yet, ensure they actually move when the motor turns over so you can be sure it hasn't wiped the lobe off the cam.
that should cross a few simple things off the list
-
Well it looks like your motor needs a full rebuild. Poochi don't panic, as Matte said, it's proberbly just a plug or lead. Our heads wander when we cant see to diagnose our selfs. If the motor ain't knocking, still take it on the week end and watch some one fix it in 5 minutes. Its a Holden red, they use these in trucks, 4x4, boats and submarines. cos they won't die and they their men or woman in your case home. So tune it up by turning the stereo up and take it easy

Its a Blue 202 Ross..
Okaaaaay,*Breath breath* its going to be fine, just something simple shells! ???
My fault..I DID ask for all your thoughts, just wasnt ready for the hardcore one, lol!
THANKYOU AGAIN buggers for your kool input, love this helpful club, ;D xox
thanx!

It's most likely the EnSpufflegator, these have a habit of coming out of sych with the hybrid wave oscillator, causing a major tear in hynemen seal.
This allow the vitrious hookshot glang secrections to flow outwards from the orbital flange.
Once this seal is broken, it's all down hill from there, major amounts of money will need to be spent on the special Knockcrometer (because it has to convert booleen 4 bit binary int Hexidecimal assci) to fit into the now expanding vortex.
The knockcrometers are readily available but need to be highly primed to work with the older more worn orbital flange.
Fortunatly there are two little buttons tha can be stimulated to produce a reversal in the Contacriniam slot block, but beware as one button is easily found (with correct directions) but the other is hidden away in unusual place, so hard to find that it hardley ever gets used.
Hope this helps, if not maybe I could look into it foryou on the weekend :D
