Title: price of bedfords rise?
Post by: ben on December 13, 2011, 08:28:08 PM
today bought this van for 300 bucks.. black and gold van.. the bloke actually knocked on my door and pleaded me to take it away!!

as you can see its worth a lot more than that in parts.. (and you cant see whats inside and underneath)

2 weeks ago bought a complete running van with a 350 chev/turbo 350/hwy diff in it for 500 bucks

4 weeks ago bought a running tray for 200 bucks inc custom 15"x8" + 15 x 10" wheels for lwb lotsa good parts..

who thinks these vans will ever go up? in one way i hope they do. in another way i hope they dont:(

i set the poll for 7 days:)

I think they will go up, as every old vehicle does......but not yet!
They are probably still seen as 'Hoonmobiles' , but as they get older these classic vans should become very sought after by the 'restore it to original brigade', and in NZ that would mean fitting the old four cylinder BACK IN!!!

Going by your posts on here I don't think you will get the chance to sell it, looks like your van may out last you, by all the work that has been done on it......... :D

Yeah, but the two vans you posted are pretty rusty looking. They'll probably bring $500 + on ebay.

The black van Ben just bought has a fair bit of rust, too.

A clean, rust free Bedford body will bring a fair bit of money (if I ever see one..)

yes but its parts are worth 2,000+ easily.. (and ive fixed worse rust than that anyway)

2000+ ? The parts on that van would be worth 500-1000 total.

The thing you got to remember is Ben your known for wrecking them and you travel the country for them, now people will want to throw them out thinking their awaist of money and why spend any on them.
OK, what you want for the chev one you picked up a couple of weeks ago? Don't touch it and i'll give you a $200 earn, Deal or what ;D ;D

there is gold in them there hills!
the more he wrecks the more the remainders are worth.

ive never wrecked a van that wasnt worthy of wrecking.. this black van doesnt have enough cancer in it to wreck..

but it would definatly bring a lot more to wreck it than sell it as is.

By looking at the perspective of the photo, I would say no more than 3 - 4 metres.

Time wise?
Blind Venison!

I found it on http://www.flickr.com (http://www.flickr.com) while cruisin' the Net.

For those who don't know, a tip:
no eye deer.

Once you work that out...
there is Legless Blind Venison:
still no eye deer.

And then there is Legless Blind Venison fornicating in the forest:
f*#@in still no eye deer.

Just what happens when you park an old car out in the street for ten plus years, no fish oil or rust prevention.

Like all Bedfords, you soon get rust around the gutters, then around the windscreen, and so on..

So this "Bedford Game" is all about "how cheap!" you can get one or get a spare  part?
Just like Corvetts and Harley's!
Please "No molestor se'nor!"
"Quality is not cheap!"

Rob

Sometimes it pays to pay a bit more and get a better one, than spending twise as much to make it the same
