Title: Fixing the butchered front end...
Post by: Jock on November 19, 2011, 05:54:15 PM
Hey guys, been a while - good to see everyones still kicking!

I am about to start fixing up the butchered front end on my CF, it was badly butchered by some muppet when they fitted a bullbar to it.
My question to all of you is how should I go about repairing it?

I have already found a good original grill to replace the chopped one. Some pics so you can see the current state:

Looking forward to your ideas on this.

Cheers

Option 1: speak to ben and get a fiberglass front to glass on..

Option 2: make up a wild front out of steel and weld it on ;)

Option 3: unstitch and weld on original front

Hey Ben,

How you been? How many vans you got nowadays?
In regards to the front of the van I would like to keep it as original as possible.

Have you got a pic of the shovel front? May use it if I can't get an original front.

Hey Cords,

What do you mean by lower rear quarters?
Are you suggesting they could be used on the front corners to reconstruct the lower front quarters?

Cheers

Well there not 'spare' then are they Benny there on vans too good to wreck. I'm going to look at a parts van this arvo, so cut out parts will be available if anyone's interested, just depends on how rusty she really is

Jock your in luck mate, the front of this van I'm buying seems to be in good nick, sus out the freight, and I'll cut the section out for ya.

For anyone else there seemed like good sections of gutter that would be good for rust repairs

what are the rear wheel arches like i would be interested in a cut from the inside lip about 5" into the quater all the way around does not matter if the bottom corners are a bit ruff

or have acess to 1.

Hi All,

Still searching for a decent front cut from a CF. If you know anyone wrecking a van let me know. Would like to get this sorted ASAP, poor old Baz needs a new front end badly!

I'm trying to keep the van as 'original' looking as possible. An original front end is what I am after!

Cheers
