pedders do beddy shocks..

if stuck see if they have a listing for FC holden, is the same mounting and length. Went to get some for my beddie recently and they were out of bedford but the guy said FC holden was the same and they had them in stock.

fc shocks???
-
They'll fit. I just replaced mine all round with KYBs and the front looked just like that.
I'm referring to the top photo.
-
i know..
top photo is bedford .
bottom is fc..
was told fc fit????
-
Ive still got the box in the shed i'll check what it says on the box, the guy at the shock shop I bought them from said they were fc holden, and get back to you
-
just checked box, typical dont state what its off just a code, they are monroe gt gas shocks code 15-0096. and the ones I got looked the same as the beddy ones except they didn't have the dust sleeve over the shock only the chrome shaft. which I was advised was you don't need. Anyhow you could try your retailer on that monroe code to see what they look like if they have in stock.
Cheers Jeff

was told fc fit?Huh
i didnt realize until now but i have seen several vans fitted with fc schocks inc one of my own. if they are the same length and all that. Mezzmo (on here) has those fc fitted. i just didnt realize they were from a FC i thought they must have been another bedford shocker..
they do mount slightly different thou. take the plates off the bottom and use the round end on the bottem and i recon you would have to rheem out the bottom wishbone slightly too to bolt it up..
thanks for the info cfjeff.. very helpful!!
cheers

Just fit Holden HQ gas front shockers. A little file and mount hole adjustment, problem solved
-
I don't really understand modifying something to fit when the correct part is freely available, especially when it comes to things that hold you on the road. ::)
-
yeah, you wouldn't use grad wrap and rubber bands when you did the deed would ya

rouge in my opinion the orig bedford mounting plates are not flash.. ive had a few of them break down on me left me limping my van home with only one front schocker in place..
the hq/ fc holden ones i recon are much more sturdy. you'll understand when you see them fitted..
i would go the holden ones if i were replacing schockers.

Maybe it was a problem with the earlier models because mine are pretty solid.

David, your one was included in the (couple) :D

I guess I can't count mine twice, unless it was extra long, hmmm now theres an idea - would love to do a extended tandem, but i have no room as it is
I get to see a few of them.
Where I have my 3rd van, it gets a lot of people going in and asking for parts etc or going for a trip down memory lane (is in a industrial area)

Hey Ben,
Next time you're comin over let us know and we'll introduce you to some.
Beddies over here are a bit like finding gold in our rivers. There's plenty around, you just need to know where to look. ;D ;D
-
Hmmm, I don't know if I would quite liken finding a Beddie to finding gold exactly... :P

and/or
does anyone have some pics of the modified shock install. the hq ones look exactly like the bottom pic
