I've been thinking of the hassles that's involved in converting to a V8, disc's on front, Holden stud pattern and police approval then I spotted this and thought "is it possible to convert" what do you think? This pic is of a chassis off of a HQ Monaro
-
My son tried this on a bronko Engineer told him not to waste his time & money so he binned it
-
I think he may of chosen the wrong engineer, this chassis is a simple "bolt in" application on the Holden, if it was made to do the same what would be the problem, you wouldn't have to worry about any engeneering of the chassis as GMH has done all that and your not modifying it
-
I think you will find the problem is, trying to graft 2 cars together, and getting the 2 to track and run right. 2nd you are looking at a monaro weight, and a beddy weight, the monaro chassis was designed for a different load capacity. I have an HX monaro chassis here, just waiting to find a 2 door body to bolt onto it. hint hint ;) ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D LE.
A full rolling chassis is about the only way you would get it past an engineer, and do it safely. Also to just bolt it straight on would require strenthening the mounting point dramatically, your weakest point is going to be where the 2 meet mmmm. I am no engineer, but to do it i hope you have a lot of money, we did a 4 wheel disc brake conversion for a lot less hassell.

Since the Beddie only has a front cross member and no chassis wouldn't this be classed as "Extra" strengthening
-
It's really not that much of a hassle to set up a v8 and disc brakes in the beddy, pretty straight forward really. The Bedford is a unibody construction, so chassis is incorporated into body, It seems like a shit load of work trying to drop one on another chassis, would be lots of grinding and welding I imagine plus heaps of extra weight. What about wheel base?

Restoreid, my mate grafts hq-z chassis to f100 all the time. Isn't a Bronco same as a f100. Was that the photo of the bronco sitting on its guts and those big bling wheels. PM me if he still wants it done and l'll give you Hodges details

No rossie that one was his show one he's going ahead with that one caus it will never be regoed But he has another with a 460 BB ford in it & the Bronko is 4wheel drive (so different chassis than F100 ) & he wanted to make it RWD so was going to put body on 1tonner chassis but they wouldnt accept the 460 in it He wanted it for a tow vehicle for the show Bronko trouble is too many projects wat with his sons rat rod Never enough time Cheers Reid

why not just fit disks
then you still have the rack and pinion.
