whats the most important feature in a campa, cooker? .. fridge? ... cooling? ... window placement? ... shower/toilet? .... heater?... according to my darhling who states that she will never again come on camping trips with me cause of the bed, I therefore reckon that its the bedding arrangements. How have you designed your bedding, and no cheating by showing pics of the above cabin beds.
Show us how your bed converts to seating or whether its a fold up or pull out arrangement. My missus reckons that unless there is a queen size bed with an innerspring mattress she will stay at a motel and drive out to the campsite during the day :D
hey Craig, yu are the man when it comes to interior pics can you share some bed pics with us?

Hey Eddy we had a $25 woolies air matress in our old coaster with an egg crate foam rubber on the top & it was the best thing I have ever slept on so guess what's going in the beddy Cheers Reid

this is how i built the bed in my SWB beddy, for stowage under, or it drops right down if i take the leg extensions out.

Eddy, I think the handbrake has a point, a good mattress is a must, air beds are great with the right amount of air in them, but a good innerspring is more familiar.
If you can design the van around a permanent bed, and use a top quality mattress then you are assure of a good nights sleep, foam mattresses are just crap, offering no support.
You can do without a lot of things, but if you can't sleep, well you just dont enjoy it.
The Seats (http://www.buga.com.au/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=8&g2_itemId=2616) I have in the back of my van are OK for one night but for a trip away over a few days would see me putting an air bed on top of it.

yeah know where your coming from Warren, the best bed set up I had was a single innerspring mattress, I had gas cylinder in the rear of a van and built over it with a box to conceal it, I had a folding seat in behind the front seats and with the seat folded over I put an old flush panel door that sat level on the folded seat and the gas cylinder box and threw the mattress on top of the door, was a single bed but with sheets and doona was magic, and a great nights sleep ..... didn't fit the missus on it though, shame .... oh for those pleasantly quite evenings again ....
-
i've been thinking of a fold out or flip up design for the bed in mine, i want to be able to put two seats in also
