you cant lower a bedford without drop axels on the front.. because we dont have camber control  so it would throw out the wheel alighnments..

id leave back standard height or try eddy's method (post below) and lower the front a little with drop axels if you have enough money to purchase them.. or just make flares to come down lower giving the look of lowered..

You coul try reversing the main leaf on the rear spring, and maybe taking a few other leafs out.

Reversing the main leaf will have the eyelette below the spring instead of above.

I havent done this personally, but (correct me if Im wrong) I think Eddy has.

May give a couple of inches change in height.

Warren i dont recomend reversing the main leaf the eyes wont hack the down load force on them and will peel open or fail completely leading to a very interesting ride!!!!  ;D ;DThe simplest way to lower the rear leafspring is to pull the spring pack apart and pressing the arch out of the main springs first using the standard spring as a reference by sitting it upside down on the floor and pressing the other one gradually every 150mm then stacking it beside the original to guage the desired ride height

if you have the 7 leaf springs on your van , quickest way to lower the rear end is to swap the springs out for the single leaf springs from a tipper cf or flatbed cf mk1 , the single leafs off the mk1s fit all beddies , ive done it with mine and the van sat around 2 inches lower at the back. as to lowering the front end , cant you just relocate the bottom arms  , ie re drill the mouting points either in or out to bring te camber back.?

Not game enough to lower Alien8, 6 leafs,  There is only about 3 and half inches between the bump stop and the axle.  They never seem to change no matter what you put in the back, they are almost flat.

the single leaf springs are lower , the arch in the spring isint as mush as the 7 leafs , i used single leafs on mine , when compared to the 3 1/2" thich 7 leafs the 1 " thick single leaf.  just unbolt the 7 leafs and bolt in the single leafs , you might need to make up new axle mpunting plates , have a look in your haynes manuals , it shows the early leaf spring set ups.

so removing a few leafs wont bring it down???

no removing a few leafs wont bring it down , what it will do is make the rear as bouncy has hell, remember a 7 leaf spring set has been designed to work as one spring rather than 7 individual leafs.

i think you will find it will bring the back down a bit by removing a leaf.. make sure you get the right one (information sourced from the famous eddy mac!!) but if you want to go down a few inches yeh throw the diff on top and might even want to add a leaf then..

and you can use lwb springs and cut them down a bit to lower the front.. only problem is camber then.. chew out the tires a bit hey..

you can't throw the diff over the springs on a short wheel base as there isnt enough clearance, that is unless you
could find a longer spring that was precurved to fit, that spring would need to have the same flex rate as well as sitting much
lower. if you could find such a spring you could then use lowering blocks (which are not recommened) to get it to
sit the desired height.

good luck looking for that spring,

not 100% sure if it would work. but it sounded good in my head.

how about lwb springs??

modify mounts, use them cause the lwb diff sits on top.. then you could lower it to whatever..

orh ... bugga, I have a 9" under my campa, I took it out of a van that had the springs underslung, it was so low that when I stood at the back of the van I could see the top of the roof, this van had been registered with the suspension mods, now that I think of it there was a different leaf set up and an extension at the shackles, I know the front was wayyyyyy toooooo looooowwwww for me, couldn't get it up the driveway at the old house let alone trying to get over the speed humps where I am now, anyways, didn't fancy the super lowered van look, wasn't practicle for what I use beddies for so took the diff out and had the brackets welded back on the top, took off what I wanted and sold the van, I think it went up to a paddock in the Dandenongs, bloke wanted it as a spare for parts. That was about 4 year ago.... did like the look of the super lowered beddie though, matt black, windowless with cragars, it had a VS airdam grafted on by the previous owner (shite job) spoiled the orig lines ....... no pics sorry ...... was number 3 van in the driveway and the misuss was cracken it so I took what I wanted and moved it on ..... bugga .... shoulda ket that lowered front end !!!!

So how did the lowered dif end up?

Check out Joel Oswald's single leaf dif set up in his gallery. It looks great!

Add decent air bags to these and you should be able to carry some weight I would think ???
