Seems to be a resurgence in van sales for a change

It always amuses me in these ads when the turkey selling it says there is something wrong like an oil leak but should be an 'easy fix'. Well if it was so easy why don't they fix it before they sell it. the term 'easy fix' = $$$$$$

Also that bottom one is hilarious. Apparently the rust can be fixed easily with a bit of 'bog work' including the hole above the winscreen. BAHAHAHAHAHA!! Once again $$$$$$$.

Post by: kimbosound on September 30, 2011, 03:13:32 PM
I agree......small oil leak could be a hole in the block and a bit of blue tack will do....bog as a rust repair is a cheap option....FOR THE VERY SHORT TERM!!!!......still a variety of vans for a change...hasn't been any for a while.

depends what you cann "short term" i recon it lasts a while.. painting a car for a bloke tis week. he gets a bog job done every 5 years. new paint (on the cheap obviously) but its well ready for another bog job after 5 years.

i recon welding it properly is less headaches lol

the red one looks similar to the one I had in the early 90's, if only it had the burgandy interior and dragways

its not, locomotion has a side door and different front spoiler . I think James also knows the current owner and its still on the road.

Yeah, don't buy it. Even from those pics you can see a large amount of rust around and in the back doors.

Post by: ben on October 07, 2011, 11:04:48 AM
they all have a lot to do for roadworthies. i have done maybe 6 or 7 bedford cf roadworthies? very hard work cause nothings standard and parts are hard to find. you really have to love them to really get one which i like:)

be patient the right one will come up at the right price. but be prepared to travel interstate if you dont want to wait too long.

if you want to chat about it im happy to chat send us your number through pm and ill call you. may be able to give you a few things to watch out for!

cheers

Unsure of pricing for petrol to get all the way back as well as price of flights and time to do so thinking its just easier and for an extra couple of bucks may as well get it sent over - less work for the van and me?

$ 530.00 is cheap It cost me $500 from the Gold coast to Port macquarie 4 years ago
Title: Re: eBay
Post by: Zeeman on October 10, 2011, 06:34:24 PM
$530 is indeed a good price for transporting that.

No worries then about breakdowns etc. and saves you time, time you can use to earn more money to pay for bedford parts..

Sounds good to me. Beats having to pay $1000 for a new garage door so I can park the van in my garage again because putting the new diff in and bigger wheels on has raised my van 20mm higher than the bottom of the garage door.  ::)  :-[

Ha HA ...That reminds me of a guy i met last year who sold his big boat for a newer bigger boat. Him and his wife measured the height of the new boat and the carport but forgot about the bigger diameter tyres on the new bigger trailer.! Got it home and it didnt fit >:( >:( The cheapest way was to get a bobcat in and dig out the brick paving to lower the floor!!! :-\

matt is awesome for hiding bad body prep and looks awesome in my opinion..

advice. what advice do you need?

if you paint it in undercoat your supposed to seal if first because lots of undercoats are porus.. 2pac ones arent thou but expensive:( if not sealed the rust starts cause the bare metal is not protected..

Tractor paint! John Deere 'Blitz Black' is a popular paint for a satin black finish, durable and pretty cheap.

even chassis black

Chalkboard paint LOL ;D but seriously you can get a flattening agent and ad it to the paint that way you have normal paint that seals and when drys has a matt finish

Or use a rust inhibiter paint like Rustolieum.

Do a google search on the "50$ paint job"
