I bought my Cf camper in Qld, got it registered there then bought it back to Melb to fix do reno's!
I just got my first lot of rego to pay and it say $800 for 12months(6cyl),i nearly died,is this normal?
I lived in Qld for 18yrs and the rego up north is always cheaper than down south,yet this Qld rego has blown me away,what do u Qld & Victorian beddy campers pay yearly?
Is it just because the roof goes up,if so my welder brothers got a new job to do,lol!

Try running a 350 Chev motor and registered as a 9 seater, not much change from $1200 in QLD. I only use the beast once a month if that. Thinking of putting her on club rego. Same size engine in my Firebird and on club rego costs me less than $200.

nothing to do with the roof mate, qld rego is: $600 - $700 and $970 - 4cyl - 6cyl and V8 approx without stating exact figures. It is all to do with revenue, when the government spend the public purse, they up the rego. When i moved up here in 1990 yes qld was around $300 for a a V8, now we are the dearest in the country, without knowing other states rego.

$420,U mean a Beddy 6cyl van? Thats dirt cheap,like old Qld days of rego,maybe im so use to my 4cyl prices i guess.
By the way i have to find time to drive alllllllllllll the way to get a petrol tank of u eventually,been busy!:(
IF u ever need to drive to airport,tell me..i live close by and could pick up the petrol tank then,lol!

Anyone know a slack ass RWC mechanic in Melb,..inbox pleeeeease,i might change my Qld rego to Melb rego now,cheaper,lol!
I will be travelling everywhere so ill choose the cheapest rego state(Vic) thanx, my beddy renos are enough as it is,then this crap $800 bucks a year?

Their will be NO slack roady's in Victoria, they now have to take 13 photos at a minimum for every vechicle, and keep the photos for 7 years

Rego price goes on what part of vic you live country or city, my rego went up about $100 when I moved from Heyfield gippsland to Geelong pete

hey matte, if you were here you would be looking at $1000-$1,200 mate. $534, hell thats what we charge for a scooter, our rego works on engine size. A 4cyl here is about $600 + Correct me if i am wrong but didnt arron in SA say that all their cars are the same rego price ??

I could be wrong.........coz I usually am, but I was lead to believe campervan rego was cheaper than the a regular van because it is used for personal use and not work.
Doubt it though.
I have the cab chassis dual wheel that I intend on putting a camper on occasionally and an older engineery type fella I met here in VIC told me that if I bolt it to the truck and get the gas & electric certificates the rego is way cheaper. This was about 6 months ago. He has a beautiful camper parked in his workshop and seems to know what he's talking about. BUT I have to argue that point as well because I took the Beddy brake drums in to get machined and he said Beddy's are a heap of sht. That 10'' brake drum nearly ended up his rhyming part. X 2.
He did mention to leave the drums on the wheel and hub and get them machined as one, say's it's the only way to get good balance. (as they do with larger trucks etc).
VIC rego,...way cheaper........ $480 for a large Transit........$1280 for a 11.5 tonne truck and RWC or WOF etc only needed when buying or selling.

Qld Transport ask us if we are using the vehicle for work or private and that determins the price, work being the dearer one.
