looking at going the delica seat route for the front of the beddy
thinking of using the middle seats as they have two armrests, sure I have read the answer on here before but, do they fit with minimal mods or would I be better off getting the front seats and mounts
What should I expect to pay, there is a pair of middle seats 90k away on ebay for $200

Hey Hotrod, make sure you send us pics of how and what you do. I was going to do a bostrom for my drivers seat, $3000. But having heard about KIA and DELICA i am looking at maybe going this rout, but will wait to see how you go. I NEED the swivel and armrest, and comfort. lol

George have you looked at Recaro seats? You can get them with arm rests for about $1400.
I'll have Recaro seats in my van within a few weeks. I don't have the arm rests though. Also the Recaro's are more bucket like so when cornering you are held in. Unlike the Kia seats where you just slide out.

Ok, i need something that hugs you, having no legs i tend to move around more then most. Can you post a pic when you get them in shane. Thats 3 to choose from, except that i am guessing the recaro dont swivel, so add around $150-$200 for a swivel plate.

I already have a bunch of Recaros here as I use them in all my cars. But I don't have any with arm rests. I'll get a picture for you.

My sister has a Kia so I have looked pretty closely at the seats ;D The Recaros are race seats so hug your body a lot as you sit down in them almost.

Hey Wendyh have you got any good pics on how you put the seats in, you no the base and how far the head rest comes back, Pleeeeeease pete
-
recaro are good but have you ever tried to get in and out of them in a bedford????? remember..... you have to step UP and over something that generally has a steel wire frame then foam ,
1) might...WILL catch the landing gear ......men.
2)tear ANOTHER HOLE in the fusealage
3)lose the look and become "crushed"
4)wear through the foam, then the fabric, in maybe twelve months for daily driver......
Just a suggestion..get the same design(maybe not so pronounced)but with a good solid foam it'll be more forgiving getting in and out of your vans

Hi sweet shock, i have uploaded some pics of our kia seats in my gallery,im on page five, go to registered & on the road section. Ray welded some bars under the kia seats so he couls bolt the seat straight onot the standard base. We were conscious of limiting the number of modifications done to the beddy. so we kept the base. Will try n upload a pic here otherwise i am on page 5 in gallery, look in restereged & on the road.

Also finially purchased some decent mirrors, as one day i was cruising up the f3 freeway in ther middle lane, went to overtake and nearly took out an XR6 . :-\ ...i looked in my mirrors yet he must have been sitiing in my blind spot ??? ...he wasnt a happy chappy seeing a big purple bum taking over his lane! So i got home and ordered some truck mirrors to fix that problem ;D
hope this helps 8)

I 'm sold, KIA here i come, they look real rich in there wendy, love em. Do yours swivel on the beddy base. All you need to do is recover or throw on a charcoal lambs wool seatcover if you want a different look. I found this pic of a delica seat online yesterday, this is what i need. If i get a swivel then all i need to build is the air scisser lift to get me to a height to drive. I have a few contacts around that like a challenge. lol ;D ;D ;D

Hi George. nah we deleted the swivel part as u would be sitiing up to high.Ray thought it may b a concern for engineers too so made it as simple as possible. There are not as comfy as my XR6 seats but hey they do u job real nice! :D

I've been trying to hunt down some Kia seats for a while now, seems they are slim pickings here in NZ

I've had Recaros in my Patrol for over 5 years now and the material is only just tearing now. The foam is still ok though.

we found a set in a wrecking yard at 50 bucks each...Ray did know the guy well and we had to remove them ourselves... so they were a good score! :D
remeber to get the second row as front ones only have one arm rest and grab the seat belts too as they are long enough to reach the floor and the buckle catches are attached to the seat. :D

Hey no prob :D
-
Hey wendy, do you have pic or 2 of the seatbelt mounted to the B pillar, i ask because they all seem to have different design mounts.
george.
-
Hi George. plz see my gallery pics page five in restored & on the road or off to the left hand side if no one esle load pics to buga.
Ray recessed in the seat belt bracket opposit the arm rest a,d added a flat bar strap behind it that goes al the way to the floor and under the floor mount. made it nice n strong..the only trciky bit is getting the main bracket level as somedays the seat belts wont come out, other days they work fine, prob got to do with our driveway on a slight slope and those seat belt things are pretty touchy and the correct angle of the dangle ;D eheheheh ... i sorta worked out it will untrack when im powering forward.. so ur trying to drive change gears steer and pull out seat belt and put in ...keep it level as much as possible..
