any sugestions for booster master conversion curently runing HQ disks and calipers up front and 66 chev belair diff and drumms at rear never been abel to get a good pedel even had the booster rebilt any sugestions taken on board

ford xc era.. best master cylinder for it. not too easy to get thou. but bolts straight up to beford booster pretty sure. or very close if not bolt up

Have been thru this experience my self lately...
Had my beddy master cylinder resleeved a few years back....rubbers died the other day...
so i had it cleaned up at my local brake place with a new rubber kit put thru it
my mate at the brake place...confirmed that the beddy Mr/Cy is too small a capacity for my HQ disc setup
he has done a few legal NSW brake conversions w XD XC Ford Mr/Cy and booster
he said bout $700 for both..fitted new

Cords, funny I was at BrakePro yesterday on a similar issue. My Beddy has the large master cyclinder and the bonnet has a bubble cut into it to accommodate the edge of the master cylinder.
I am running HQ front discs and have a drum rear setup. The guy told me that a Ford XA, XB or XC booster and master can fit. You will have to change the screws to the brake lines.
BrakePro have quoted me about $500 to do the job.

thank fellas more than abel to do this my self was just wondering what every ones useing as the roof is going back on in the next few weeks and then im work from the front back and want to sort the brakes before i go to far

i got a van here with a mazda 929 master.. one with hz master.. and one with the xc ford. use whatever you can get your hands on with a 1" bore for the front discs and setup for drums on the back.

Back in the day we used to use a torana LC booster with a ford XC master, the push rod was shortened and the holes on the master had to be filed out a tiny bit, this fitted well in the bonnet space without any bonnet modifications, worked a treat too. I dont know the length of the pushrod modification though but it was a matter of cut bigger then nibble bits off then round off to fit

This is an old post but just to provide some info for anyone else reading this. I have HQ discs on my LWB and a 9" diff running off the Bedford master cylinder with no problems. You don't need to change to another master cylinder but you do need to do a few mods.
I changed the 9" wheel cylinders to a smaller dia as the ones in there were huge and would lock up. Can't remember the new size but 3/4" bore rings a bell. The CF master cylinder I had re sleaved to 7/8" and that's it. All works a treat.

Garry, you could of just run a brake bias instead of smaller clys in back. They were common in HQ and P76 etc
