Title: Replacing Solex Carb with a Weber
Post by: Brendeni on July 08, 2011, 06:49:39 AM
Hello Fellas

After much buggering about and get the solex carb checked out. The conclusion was that it would need to be reconditioned. My local mechanic told me probably no point doing that and I sould get a weber carb if I could find one cheap enough. I was able to locate one last night.......Phew. Does the weber carb work with the normal air filter setup or does it need an adapter. Thanks

Are you putting it on the standart 2.3 litre motor, or are you running a Holden motor?

Hi Bas, it will be going on the standard 2.3 motor for now. It came off a 2.3 bedford motor so it configured for it already.

Ok no problems then, might pay you to put a Pod filter on it, as the weber needs more air flow to proform well............ but would work with standard Bedford air cleaner, but might have to adapt it to fit carb, not sure...........
