Hmmm..Same thing,loose!
If my bro cant fix it i need another one, putting in the motor so he wont get to that bit till nx week?
Keep u inmind hun, '
Thanx

I think you'll be hard pushed to find one that isn't loose. I spoke to a reconditioner a couple of years ago who sounded confident about fixing mine but I didn't go through with it as I decided to solve the issue by installing power steering instead.

what rack did you use

I brought a Bedford rack in from the UK that was fully rebuilt, but also changed to PS............

I will be using a Transit rack. It's not quite there yet. Have to finish the diff install, reset the front springs and then into it. The Transit appears to be the most popular and I think it's a good choice as it's a relatively modern component and there are a few of them available.

Stick rebuilding the original then? ID LOVE power steering if its not to much trouble for my bro to put inn?
Question boys:
Is there a commodore/Holden power steering rack that converts u know of please?

Have a VN PS rack in the Black Beddie, runs through a bevel box to change the direction of turn, but you lose a lot of turn, other van rus a Transit, much better............. The rebuilt rack from the UK is real light to turn, has a couple of extra teeth or something in it, was built for the Ambo's over there to make the stearing lighter.

i have about 5 steering racks at home. i would love to tell you need to buy one of mine but you can rebuild your own easy. you need to tighten up bush if no more adjustment you can put a washer in there but its a bit iffy just go and get a new bush. take your old one out i think torana fits thats if there is play in steering cog. if play is in tie rods then you can tighten them up. thats all the goes wrong unless you bent it in an accident.
power steering is great if you got the time to muck around fitting it. i dont like power steering cause ill loose power in my arms:)
