As promised here is a pic of the remote battery post i had installed on my bobcat. These have made life a breeze. Because my van will be a show van and not driven every day [well maybe] ;D i will be installing these in mine, and when the van is sitting idle, the charger can take over.
I have rocket industries mega catalogue [massive & heavy] and they sell the posts for the hotrods with the batteries in weird places.

just get some bolts and use them as terminals. be good for jump starting others too:)

You can mount them anywhere, the guys at bobcat mounted them just behind the cab. The amount of efford for me to lift the engine cover was massive, now i just back the cat into the garage, leave enough room to get my chair up along side it, and connect the charger. The posts have rubber covers while the cat is in use to stop an ark happening.
When the beddy is finished my cat is going into the carport and the van in its place, warm and secure. ;D ;D

their are some flash ones out there, l think they are a great idea, saves climbing into the battery box

In the race cars we used to have a plug as the battery was sealed in. is basically a set of jumper leads cut in half and a big heavy duty plug in the middle.
It also a good idea to have a cut off switch from battery in case of arking as battery can go boom

If you don't need the ability to run anything off the extra posts, ie just need remote charging ability, there is an item on the market called a battery conditioner. It looks like a cell phone charger and has a small bayonet plug and socket with two long wires attached to the socket. You fit these wires to your battery terminals and mount the socket somewhere convenient in the van. All you do then is plug the charger into a wall socket or extension lead with the bayonet plug into the socket and it keep your battery topped up for extended periods of time. I have one fitted to my van's main battery which is still installed under the floor, (the socket's in a cupboard above it) and another fitted to my secondary battery. They seem to work well.

I have a CTEC fitted to my landcruiser, it just conditions the battery and keeps it charged. Actually it worked so well, i bought another one for my ride-on mower, and when the bobcat charger dies, i will get one for that. Love the CTEC, they fit in the palm of your hand, and so far have been 100% reliable. The charger on the cat cost me almost $300, if i had got a CTEC, cost, $150.
