I had a look at these 5 vans yesterday. One of them would make an interesting project. Pretty shabby but hardly any rust, mid mount 350 chev, VP dash, vancraft front end, flares. Good basis for a hot rod van. A lot of money was spent on it back in the day.

I'd buy it myself but with two vans already and one garage, don't have anywhere to store it.

I will post photos if anyone is interested.

What sort of money is he after for the mid mount van and the other 4?

2 grand each for two with 253's. 5 grand for the better nick custom with vancraft front end, 351 cleveland & 9 inch diff.

The blue one (350 chev) was 2 grand with motor and box, 1000 bucks without. It's basically a bare shell, though, with motor and box sitting in it & standard diff. Nowhere near running. Probably best suited to a long term project.

Seemed negotiable on the price, though.

I am currently negotiating with a guy in Bendigo on a '79 CF Camper. It is a Cab/chassis with a Franklin "sort of caravan" body with a Luton peak. It has a red 202 and Traumatic. I test drove it and the front-end obviously needed work. he wants $7,000 for it with no RWC. I sent it off for a roadworthy check and it came back needing top ball-joints, front wheel cylinders, front brake reline, gas tank needs redating (It is Dual Fuel) and a new windscreen. I reckon all that would be around $1,000 if done by a friendly mechanic. He won't budge on price though.. Pity 'cos it's a nice camper but wheeling and dealing is part of the game. No fun when they won't budge.

Thanks Ben,

I agree. His excuse for not lowering is "It was originally for sale at $10k, I have already come down to $7k."
Well Mate, when I asked you the price, you said 7, not 10.
I mean, also I thinkwe blokes are stupid sometimes? If he had said $8k and I had negotiated him down to $7k I would probably have been quite happy... Hahahaha.

I am in no hurry...

Cheers, Phil

Here's some pics of this blue custom CF:

Heaps of money spent on it at some stage. Apparently was around Frankston for a while..

Liking the engine setup. Front of engine was bolted directly to crossmember, so engine sits behind crossmember, but engine cover was hardly bigger than standard! Think I'll copy this on my LWB. Nissan taillights, VP dash, full vancraft bodykit. Seems a shame to let this one rot away..
