Title: Original Condition CF Beddy
Post by: Muddy on December 19, 2010, 08:06:56 AM
Hey all out there,

Can any of you knowledgeable Bedford folk put a rough value on a '75 CF LWB High Roof Ex ambulance in completely original condition . It is in excellent condition with genuine 65,000 Kms. No rust, no dints. It has a 173 running a high ratio diff for hwy travel. Has been garaged for most of its life.

Any ideas would be great

Cheers.

Hi Muddy

It's worth what your prepaired to pay for it.

Having said that. if it is original,un molested, low milage with NO rust then it's very desirable and up the higher end of the value scale.

About a year and a half back I paid around the $2k mark for an excellent camper with no engine.

Is it running and registered? that adds to the value as well.

Going by some of the sales I've seen recently maybe $5k would not be unreasonable.

Think also of what money you will (and won't) have to spend on repaires to get it up to scratch.

Cheers Warren,

The Van is registered and runs like a dream. From what I can tell it is in RWC. The only thing to do to bring it back to its prime is reupholster the front seats. There is no rust and the car has been completely fish oiled.

It was purchased new by the Hobart hospital and sat in the underground car park for many years after only being used for 3 yrs. It was bought by a guys who has had it for 10yrs and drives it about 30km a week.

Considering this is 5k still on the money?

id think less than that. who wants a standard lwb? not really all that popular. i wouldnt want to pay any more than 3.5k for it. but like warren pointed out everyones different and its only worth what you or someone else will pay for it.. ben

The think about standard is you know what it is... standard. I Paid $3050 for the Azzvan and i know it has a standard 202, standard 3 speed, standard beddy diff etc (well it did have)
If i bought someone else's project i'd have no idea what parts were stock and what parts had been changed unless they had kept a detailed log book (which is what i'm doing)
Who was it said, depending on what you want, Show or Go, a Beddy will cost you at least $6000 for Go and $10000 for Show

How bad do you want it, and can you afford it ?

Do they have a price or are you making an offer ?

Registered and roadworthy are worth money to you - because you dont have to spend money to get it there.

Looks like the others are saying around the $3 to $4K mark - but once again its up to you, sounds like a great buy, you just have to be comfortable with what your prepared to pay.
