I Know outriding did a post called "show me your speakers"

but as thats a year old, i thought i'd post a new topic rather than reviving the old one.
In the new year, i'll probably be starting to look at a stereo for my van and going from the comments in "show me your speakers" i'm thinking something like this
Alpine IDA X305 Head unit RRP$699 Mounted In Dash (Somehow)
Alpine PDX 4.100 Amplifier RRP$$599 Mounted Somewhere?
Alpine SPS 600C 6.5" 2 Way Component speakers, RRP$249 mounted in kickpanels and top of door/dash for tweeters, powered from the amp
Alpine SWS 1023D 10" Subwoofer RRP$189 Again mounted somewhere?? powered form the amp (2ch bridge)
Total cost $1736 plus cable, speaker pods, mounting accessories, sub box etc. (From the alpine website)
Or about $1150 from various ebay stores
Any thoughts?

If your budget is tight re read my post in the old thread, you could build it in stages as your budget improves.

Yeah i'm thinking maybe just the splits, running of the head unit initially, then amp and sub later. I don't want doof-doof blazing from my van, just some nice tunes with a bit of volume and depth

can i ask as im in process of designing the inside of the dash of my flying brick and speaker position can you guys give me any ideas for best speaker position

I think one of the comments was that the kick panels (where your foot would kick the van from a seating position) had the best results.
I've not started my install so i can't comment too much, but maybe look at some modern vans. A whole heap of R&D woulda been put into them to find best speaker positions.
The Hyundai iLoad is kinda similar in cabin shape, in that the wheel is infront of the front seat, unlike the Hiace
