If you're planning a V8, get a 9" diff from a mid 60's ford Galaxie.

Big finned drums and the right width for a Bedford with flares and 8 - 10" wide mags at the back.

About 1550 mm outside measurement, 1420 mm backing plate to backing plate.

Most are 3:1 or 3.5:1

Keep an eye on ebay, I got one for $380.. they show up now and then.
Any 9" diff advertised with Falcon or GT in the title will usually get a lot.. $1000 +.

But the Galaxy one is a bit wide for most cars, so you should get it cheap. Try your local American Ford wrecker.

Or if you know someone in the States who ships stuff, get 'em to pick one up for you from a wreckers. Should be cheap as chips.

Are you planning to fit a V8? If you're staying with the red motor, a Bedford highway diff should do the job. Just fit a T700 four speed auto, it'll make highway speeds a lot better - 2000 revs as opposed to 3500!
